Manual Cam Chain adjusters??
I have noticed my now rattles upon start up and then gets quiet once it warms up. Bike runs fine after it warms up. Cam chain is what I believe it is.
Anyone had this problem? and Has anyone tried the APE adjuster?

I see can how the installation would be simple.
Its easy to get to but I am wondering how does one know when they've acquired the right adjustment? What would be the sign that its too tight?
I am going to buy the APE one.
I'll let you all know if it shuts this thing up upon start up.

Just be sure to adj it properly - there are "fragile" chain guides in there.

I have the 08 Concours adjuster. Well it's still at the dealer...I will go get it on Monday.
I assume it's as simple as removing the old one, and putting in the new one?

You say rattles on start up then goes quiet when warmed up. I think most as mine does rattles for maybe 1second then is quiet. To me as so many other 14 items is acceptable. Why f*** with something so minor? I wouldn't want the manual adjuster unless there was a record of the original one failing because you will have to periodically adjust the Ape adjuster as chain wears.

I agree. I had an APE on my 01 zx6r and I was adjusting it a little about every two weeks. I rode it alot and I would notice when it would get louder than normal. I'm sticking with the hydraulic one on my 14.

I now have it in my hand....I also ordered the (I forget what bike used what..) the Oring and the gasket. Either the Concours, or the ZX used the Oring, the other uses a gasket. Not sure which one to use, I'll decide when I change the old one.
So once again, as simple as removing the old one, and putting in the new one?
Thanks
