Info cycle logic lock-up?
I talked to a couple guys about the cycle logic lock-ups and every1 said just bolt it up. I installed it, blew the last fiber into pieces 1st pass. I e-mail who i bought it from, then they say did you replace the chatter ring and 1st fiber. I said no, i thought you just bolt it on. My stock clutch was working great, i was just wanting a lil more lock-up in higher gear. Any1 know what i should do? go back stock? Or try getting it to work? Any info greatly appreciated.
Oh i also had 2 clean my pan out, and sump. it was full of crap.

Rick we had the cycle logic lock-up in Jesse bike and in my bike and never had a problem with breaking any fibers .....I never head anything about removing the chatter ring or any other parts to make it work ..... On both bikes we just bolted it on and went racing .. Their are a few guys that have the cycle logic lock-ups and his turbo systems and i have not heard of any problems on the either ..
Rick was your last plate offset ? was your clutch worn down where the last plate was real real close to the basket ? The reason i ask is we put all the plates in a line and do not offset the last plate like factory does ..The factory offsets that last plate as a kind of a wear indictor and if it's worn down to much it will cause the clutch to slip because it comes into contact with the basket ...... I would think the lockup would put extra presure on that last plate and could possible break it like what happened to yours if it was worn down and made contact with the basket ... Smokin ...

Yes it was offset. Set up stock. But within specs. Think i should try a new clutch and not offset? i want to get this right. Was freaky seeing it all over in my pan. Dont want that again.

If you only have one broken palte i would just replace that plate ...Line it up with the other plates and make sure the lockup is fully seated against the clutch hub and all the bolts are tight .....
Rick did you look at the plates before you installed the lockup ? Is it possible it allready had some breaks in the plate ? The reason i ask is on my zrx1200 it would break plates all the time and it had NO lockup in it .. They do get dry and that causes them to break ....Make sure you lean the bike over to the right before every pass and oil up the plates .. I would also check the rest of the plates just in case ... Mine would not just break one plate , it would break two or three plates when it happened ..

It broke (exploded)the outer fiber. Bent the rest inward both fiber and steel. Yeh clutch was inspected And micd b4 putting lock-up in. I didnt change anything. The lock-up is supposed to be touching the hub? Mine seemed to be away from it. A 1\4 inch? Can u send me a pic of the lock-up and how its supposed to look installed? Somethings amiss here.

You had it set up wrong, and probably were applying it wrong as well...........
When you get serious about it, contact me.

I got a pm last night from one of them, they had it installed wrong, and found the issue........
A lock up is a lock up, unless you are talking multi stages, in which mtc is the only one......

I wouldnt say installed wrong. , But ive come to the conclusion that the lock-up wasnt seated fully. when i pulled the lever in the last fiber came out and got hung up thus exploding it. Smokin asked me a few questions and knew exactly what happened. Im gonna try it again with all new stuff. But it was supposed to be set-up, it is supposed to bolt right in. I didnt want to strip the bolts so i geuss it was too far out. Anyway thanks ill let ya know how it goes.

Its part of the installation....., or at least what I would call it........
I was having to make sure I got it in just right when working on the 14 I was tuning a couple weeks ago........, I can see how it happened.
Yeah, MTC sends them too, supposedly "set up"
I have found, "set up" is a relative term.........
How many times have your heard, "MTC said it was set up for my bike and my rider weight, I dont know whats wrong..........."
