Sounds like a differnt issue now ....

no , lowered frt end and bottoming suspension would cause fender to push horn into rad
That happened to mine, so the horn got binned...
smeg is proactive and better than the tweety bird horn anyway though....

Is it both handle bars shaking??? And have you checked your tires for uneven wear patterns??

Any oil leaking from the forks?
Did u get the bike used? Did the prev owner hammer the breaks (warped as mentioned)

Was it in an accident? horn shoved into the rad? (are we looking at another issue?)

Brake pads damaged? Pieces missing metal on metal? (squealing?)

Need all the feed back u can give us.

Air in brake lines? Cause brake fade and pulsing possibly...

something else you need to check is are the shock struts protruding equally through the triple trees?? I rode a bike that had them uneven and it rode like every bolt on it was loose, especially the front axle nut.....

Warped rotors don't grind metal on metal....but you'd know if they're warped...you'd feel it in the brake lever and the bars on this bike. My 10r also had it...

Reading smart ass comments are half the reason I come here
The other half is to give them
Either your rotors are warped or your front tire is cupped/wore out. And you won't need the key to replace the front tire

I'm going with warped rotors; I'll put money on that -- been there, done that. I figgered out after a trashed the rotors on my 10R and my 06 14, that if you have to break anything in on these bikes, it's the brakes, not the engine. They need to seat properly before you apply severe pressure. I broke my 08 in right and the rotors are perfect now! Bad news is that Kaw doesn't warranty the rotors...ask me how I know...

Chances are its just air pressure in the front tire. I used to have a bad head shake problem on my old R1. Decelerating from about 65 to 45 with no hands on the bars would cause bad head shake. I took it to the dealer and Yamaha said that it wasn't a problem and doesn't need to be fixed. I bought a scott's damper to help with the problem. The head shake wouldn't be bad if I installed a new front tire. But after about 2 or 3 thousand miles it would cause uneven tire wear and the head shake would get worse as time went on. Two things seemed to help a lot with the problem and that was proper tire pressure and relatively new tires. If I swapped a front the same time I would swap a rear, I wouldn't have problems at all. And if I kept my hands on the bars during decleration, I wouldn't feel the shake.

Yamaha wouldn't fix it because they said it was inherent to the aggressive design and suspension geometery....Bastards!

Tire pressure easy to check.
After that "rotors as Steve stated"

With the above list completed you have done a good front end inspection.

No accident - nothing bent or damaged.

Take care.

put some new pilot powers on there, my 14 is rock solid with them, the only other problem could be warped rotors (brake job time)

Easy way to check the rotors, assuming you don't have a dail indicator, is to take a black marker and draw a line around the rotors and ride it down the street and apply the brakes. If you have a dotted line when your done your warped. Another possibility is glazed pads. My Buell XB12R with the perimeter brake set-up would do that and needed sanding every 3000 miles.
