Noob

First post. I've been on the "other" ZX14 forum but this one seems to be more active and is faster. I've had my 06 ZX14 since Nov. of 06 and have almost 14000 miles. Also have a C14 since last August, otherwise I'd have 24k miles on the ZX.

I haven't made many mods as the bike seems close to perfect for me already. I did add Yosh Ti slipons that look good and subtract about 20 lbs. And bar risers (1") from twisted throttle I believe. And recently a fender extender from Murph to prevent further damage to the radiator.

I've gone through several sets of tires and am close to trying a set of Avon Storms. I have a set of Dunlop Roadsmarts ready for the C14.

Not wanting to start a tire thread, though, and fuel unnecessary angst and hatred.

Hi Oldfrt, I just bought a couple of Yoshimura's Ti TRC slip ons, so hopefully they will arrive by the end of this month. Any chance to see pics of your ZX14 with the Yosh's?
Thanks and Welcome
Best Regards,
David

Thanks,
I've tried Pilot Power 2s and didn't get very good mileage. About 3k miles.

I've already got a set of Avon Storms for when the Continental Road Attacks wear out.

The Pilots are kind of expensive and don't last any longer.

I'm going with Roadsmarts for the Connie14 when the Conti RAs wear out there.

Great another tire thread... I'm due for a set myself (shoot, what 14 owner can say there next set of tires ISN'T on there minds all the time!) and I wanted to go with the Pilot Road2.

I haven't bought a tire that wasn't full sport since I was...??.... holy crap, I just realized I have never owned anything but full sport tires, even on my GS1000L cruiser! lol 30 years and never used anything but one type of tire.

Guess I'm overdue then. Road 2's it is. I just hope they live up to there claim of using Pilot Power rubber on the edges. Between that pig of a bike, and my whale of a body, there's alot of weight needing traction when I rail!

Just wondering "oldfrt", how old exactly are you? Because there is plenty of guys in there 40's and 50's on this site. I'm 37 myself.

Hey sticks, Do you still have your 1000L? That's the bike that my dad and grandpa used back in the day to make sure that the honda shop in our town never sold any CBX's lol. Here's to a perfect launching Shaft drive bike that would murder everything else that was out at the time.
