NIghtmare dynotune

Just returned from a nightmare dyno tune. found out that oil blowback in the airbox is bad for tune, and a commander gounded to the frame is also bad. Luckily after breaking down on the side of the highway the shop found the issues and corrected them. Of course you know their first question was "did you run out of gas?" Thank god I didnt since embarrasment factor would have been a 10. All is good now.

Can you please elaborate on the 'oil blow back'.

Also, please expand on the grounding to frame problem? Was yours a problem only because it was grounded under the coolant reservoir, so the bolt came loose?

Thanks.

the blowback is coming from to much oil in motor and blowing up thru crankcase vent

Thats exactly what it was. The oil was filled to just a fraction about the full line in the sight glass. Obviously the bike is very sensitive to overfill. Especially under hard and high rpm. Drained the overflow from the airbox drain and the bike was back in business. I filled the oil to just under the full line now. The ground was strange. It was grounded just over the reservoir under the left fairing. The ground actually degraded as the bike ran. Possible other electrical grounded to frame ? I dont know. Maybe the fan as the bike quit running after it got hot on the highway. Switched the ground to the engine block and it ran much better with no problems.

The frame ground under the reservoir is not a good ground.
It not really a frame ground. Its a brace that is bolted to the frame
and the bolts have loc-tite on them. The brace and frame have paint.
My bike quit on me at the track , same problem.
I spliced into the PC ground wire and ran the SECOND wire to the frame ground at the battery box.
