Ricky Gason's '08 ZX-10

He posted that he ran 8.88 at 155.86 on 87 pump gas. He didn't list mods but you can see the bike is at least stretched.

87 octane works fine, that's all I ran in my 14 and that's all I run in my Busa unless I try some mr9 once. 87 will make a bit more hp. It's just like an oil thread some guys will disagree. what ever you feel safe with.

more hp out of 87 octane, less additives------ higher octane better fuel economy

i asked rickey what was done and this was his reply...

all I have done is put a Muzzy m-10 pipe, a power commander, 6 inch extensions,15/43 gearing(need more)and some 87 octane pump gas.
Should go faster this week as I am going to add some MR9, and maybe a shifter.

Surely the octane rating of pump gas only starts to be an issue if the engines compression ratio is raised. Oxygenated fuel is something else.

Long, low and Rickey's talent are the key factors.

Well 6 inches over is not much on a zx10 ( 61 inches ) and as i have found out the rear shock will not let you get that low ...

I would say key factory is Ricky and the other is the power of the new zx10...

Are you saying if you did similar mod's on a Fireblade or GSX-R Rickey wouldn't get into the eights?
