Brock's TRE-006A Map + TRE006A = No Decel Pop
Probably all of the 06-07 owners who have an aftermarket exhaust and PC are familiar with the backfire which occurs when the throttle is closed suddenly above 3500 rpm. I've been living with it for two years. I have an 06 ZX14 with Brock's Gen III StreetSmart exhaust, secondary throttle plates (flies) removed, and PC with Brock's map. A while back Brock sent a new map for those who wanted to eliminate the decel pop. You have to add Ivan's TRE006A (or make your own) to lock the ECU in the neutral fuel map, which does not cut fuel flow during decel. You also have to have the flies pulled out. I decided to give the system a try. The flies were already pulled so I simply had to install the TRE006A, update the PC with Brock's new map, and recalibrate the PC throttle position setting. I then set out on may favorite twisty backroad here in CT. I generally have 5 to 8 loud backfires during rapid throttle chops on this particular road and this time I had absolutely none. I tried to force a backfire or at least a small decel pop but was unsuccessful. So I can say that the system absolutely works. On-off-on throttle transitions were also smoother. I noticed no loss of low end power relative to the flies out-Gen III-Brock's map baseline. No dyno, just a semi-psuedo calibrated butt. Mid-range power seemed the same as well. Brock did state that there was a slight loss in quarter mile times with this setup, but I'm a street rider so this doesn't bother me in the least. In my ride range I noticed no difference. Only negative was a slight vibration increase in the right foot peg. Wasn't something that would get your attention unless you are looking for something different (which I was). So I can say I'm satisfied with the new setup. I recommend it for street riders looking for the flies out low-to-mid range power increase who have Brock's exhaust systems installed.

Ditto, the backfiring was driving me nuts but now with remap and the TRE006 she purrs like a kitten. Good stuff Raptor, also seems to smooth out the shifting.

raptor14,
Do you still lose your gear indicator with that set up?
Thank you.

You must have the 006a if your gear indicator says 'N'. If you had an 008 it would read '6' all the time. (I've had both devices on my '06 at one time or another) Also the 008 is designed to open the flies faster and I noticed you already took your flies out so that wouldn't make much sense. 006a is designed to work only with flies out.

Not me Hawk, that popping makes it sound like your bike needs a tune up.

Good reveiw raptor.
I have werkes S/O that don't have much baffling. My decel pops were LOUD and at night shot 12" flames!
I kinda liked it, but for the sake of others, needed to eliminate it.
I have a GIPro that does the same thing as Ivans TRE, but I can switch the setting if I wanna be a hooligan.

Thanks
It was this way when I got about 3 months ago except for the M14 (Shane's M14) I am starting to install the M14 and store the slip on's. I did not get the Box from Ivan to see what part#. The orginal owner told me it was a TRE008, after he installed slip on's and PC with map he could here the poping. Purchased a TRE and poping gone.Removed fly's and installed another map.Ran harder down low and still no poping. I bet you are right but I will email Ivan and ask what he sold him...just curious now.. I wanted a Brocks Gen3 CF but this was less than 1/2 the $$ and it has a custom map that has the same mod's as I have and the same year.I would like to try a Brocks map for a TRE and Fly's out witha full exhaust, Hey it's a daily driver I don't care if a TRE costs me a tenth of a second in the 1/4.
