Mod chip instead of removing secondary flys

I met a guy today who also had a zx-14, and he said he had a mod chip to put trick the bike into thinking it was in 6'th gear just like the TRE does, but it does NOT always show 6'th gear in the computer panel. He said this was a better alternative than removing the secondary flys.

Does anyone know of this chip?

Thanks

What were his proposed benefits to running this TRE (or other similar unit) as opposed to simply removing secondaries and re-mapping. Just curious?

Removing the secondaries and remapping is much more bang for the buck than running a TRE.....not to mention...it just works better.

It's called a GI-pro atre. Same place that does the speedo healer.

Benefits over just removing flies? None, except you dont have to worry about stripping screws, you can return you bike to stock at the push of a button, you dont "need" a PC III.

Had one on my '07, worked great. Still ended up pulling the flys and replacing the exhaust, putting on a PC III.

For my '08 I'm leaving the flies alone, still putting on the pipe and PC III though.

Does this unit offer the same results as the speedo healer, bypassing the factory limiter?

GI-Pro does lose the gear indicator guys....only thing, is that it has an external gear indicator (Ughhhhhh)

...zero benefit and still under-performs against the fly's out mod, not to mention the lean condition that it doesn't address. You do need a PCIII with it, or you stand the chance of burning your pistons.

Lot of $$$ to waste on that...

Speedo healer and ATRE are 2 different products.

The gear indicator on the GI Pro I thought was much better than the factory one, larger, brighter, faster reacting and accurate.

It does work better with a PC III though, as would any bike without flies.

His chip did what the TRE does, only it showed the correct gear in the computer. It was not an external gear indicator. It did nothing more than what the TRE does and was not a substitute for removing the flys.

I didn't get his name, since he gave me some keywords to look for on Google, but when I searched for zx-14 override chip on google I couldn't find it. I guess I was too confident that I would find it.

I don't think he was talking crap either. So I am still looking for the chip rather than the TRE. If I can't find it, I will just remove the flys and get a power commander.

Dunno, I should have been more attentive. I was just thinking "Oh, I will search online and it will come up first thing".
