Power Commander Settings

Any advice on Power Commander settings? I have a PC3 with Muzzy Slip Ons and am having a problem with hesitation at about 3000 rpm and light throttle. If the bike feels hesitant would this indicate a lean or rich mixture? Any help is appreciated!

Hey, thanks for the reply! I installed the map for Muzzy slip ons with stock air filter and motor, which is what I have. I have not touched the secondarys (still stock set up). The motor hesitates so much at almost exactly 3000rpm that you have to increase throttle to get it over the hump and then it comes on as normal at about 3300 rpm. Problem is as normal is a major surge until you adjust back on the throttle to compensate. Thanks again for your help!

It could be that your set-up with the slip-ons is making the normal flat spot at 3000rpm seem worse. It won't take full throttle at that engine speed anyway.
Best solution is to get those secondary butterflys out, you'll be amazed at the difference 15 minutes with a screwdriver can make. It's the best no-cost modification ever.

Also go to www.powercommander.com for choices on maps. Just type in bike info and they'll pull up a lagre selection of various maps for you to choose from. Pretty damn cool!

Thanks James! Already loaded the proper map but still have the problem. It's a bit of a drag as the main reason I went for the Muzzy slip ons was because power commander had a map for exactly that set up. Also, I thought that Muzzy had a long term relationship with Kawasaki so it should work perfect right out of the box! I think a dyno is in order but it's hard to find in Vancouver, Canada!

not that hard... Open the yellow pages. Find a performance shop.
There are a couple. Or goto Vegas... I know of a few.

If you don't mind travelling to the Langley area for a Dyno check out Murray at Newman Suspension. Just had my 14 on the dyno there to get an idea of HP before I start changing things.

I got a resonse from Power Commander tech who suggested adding 3 bars om both the low and mid range adjustments. I made the change tonight and will try it out tomorrow morning.
