I've got my money on the 14! The reason being? There's no replacement for displacement!

Thats not really true cause there were not many 1397 Busa's that could out run my 14 which had less displacement.
And I agree smoking a light rider on a ZX 10 or gsxr 1000 or maybe even this year a CBR 1000 might just be what's putting up the good times. .

They're too hard to get out of the hole... Maybe if they turn one into a non streetable drag bike, but without doing that it's just not going to happen. Smokin' can practice up all he wants, but in the long run getting faster on his 10 is just going to make his 14 seem that much easier to beat it with. Notice that you said that there were not "many" that could outrun you. That implies that you were out riding them. I'm not saying that it's impossible to do, just that it's not likely. I have no doubt that the 10 has a faster time in it somewhere, but the cosistency is going to be the key.

You guys realize if the new 1000's start winning on the drag strip you all had better start taking your 14's to the road circuit to even the score, right?

I am curious about one thing: any of you think taking a already very light weight bike like the new ZX10 and adding some weight to it intentionally, down really low and forward, like say 25 lbs in a plate just under the headers, if it would help? Maybe plant the front end, make wheelies way more easy to control, launch's more consistent? The extra weight placed in the right spot might just tame that ball of fury they planted in the engine bay.

Yes weight up front and down low would help a bunch, have seen guys with as much as 35 to 40 lbs on the front of bikes.

I sat on the 2008 10 last week and it's stupid small. I felt like I was on a unicycle. Since I don't fit on them, I don't mess with them. They're for small fellas.
