Mounting location for PC III
Just wondering where you all mount your PC III's? Got a few options, and wanted to keep the tool kit. Heard of issues with corroded grounds etc.., is that a common problem? pics if you got them! Thanks!

The left ram air duct. Easy access and easy wiring. Others put it in front of the tool box.

I extended the 9V battery cord and also leave that and the USB cable hooked up. I tuck them away under the left air tube cover.

Best spot for easy access like the others say is zip tied to the left ram air tube. That's where I put all the ones I install.

Yep left ram air tube, left the usb side facing up. Hub fits there also. i want to install a flush mount usb plug into the cover so it doesn't have to be removed but i havent found one with a water tight cap yet. if anyone knows a pc warehouse that has one let me know

quote: UNDER THE SEAT where it belongs
Scott, I was thinking of moving mine there this yr. Has PowerCommander provided long enough of a harness to do so, or is it iffy?
Like you say, it belongs under the seat....putting it on the ram air tube is Mickey Mouse!
Thanks

lol looks like Im gonna have to go to there website, I thought it hooked up to the computer back by the tool kit. Cuz the cable I got is only about 2 feet long, no way it could reach the nose! So where does it hook up too?
And thanks for the huge amount of responses fellas, you guys are the best!

Never mind, when I pull the flies this weekend Im sure I'll find it. But the plug on the CPU also fits. I bet you could use that one too? Should just be the other end of the same chord, right?

oh crap, let me guess: the same wire that the Ivans TRE hooks too? I tore my whole damn bike apart trying to find that wire then after an hour and a half I found it. Right within reach like you just said. I do have to admit directions come in handy - sometimes! And used parts dont have directions...

no its the big brown connector tucked under the throttlebodies, accessed from left side.
It has enough cable to mount under seat, I used to have mine there, then it got crowded with some other stuff.

Why put it anywhere but under the seat where it's easily accessible without having to remove this and that. You just simply take the seat off and there it is. I don't really understand why people would put it under the windscreen and under this and that, where you would have to take tools to remove whatever it is under. Under the seat is best.
