New to the site....
Hey guys, new to the site and new to the ZX14 riding community...
Seems there are a shit load of threads/topics here which is a good thing.... but If some one could point me to a thread or 2 talking about lowering my '07 zx14... Im getting a crap about lowering mine, which I dont really care what people think cause they are looking at my ass when I go around them anyway, Just a couple questions, handling, does it really affect it that much? Whats the Ideal lowering level? I was thinking 2" ?...
BTW Im from PC just outside of Tampa. I seen a few old post about QSL over by Clearwater, are you guys still meeting over there? I have a few friends that go every now and then but seems I need to make the ride myself...

start small by just strapping the front end. get used to that setup first because that alone will change handling alone, later lower your forks an inch that will again change handling.of course always be careful when riding on the street, this set up works best on the strip. and congrats and welcome

2" in back and 3/4 in front huh? is that the leveling factor?
Im actualy in Plant City. I was going to Sunshine about every few wed's when a friend was running his old 750Kaw there, Think he is planning on going back after this week, was at Bike Week... If you guys plan on riding over let me know and I will meet up with you or something, Im always up for a ride, considering I bought my 14 and in the 1st week put over 600 miles on it. not including over 10k on myGPZ last year...

I don't know it that setting is level or not but it works well for me at that drag strip ...I also use a strap and that pulls down the front end a bunch ....The strap i only use at the track and NOT on the street .. Here is a pictue of the bike .. Smokin..

welcome
1" - 3/4 " is max before fender bottoms on upperfairing in frt.
lower the rear an equal ammount and handling will not suffer at all... not a bit, as geometry has not changed, only the height.
you need some zx10 fender adapter brackets so you can put a nice zx10 fender on that purty bike...
PM me if you want adapters, I have some for sale
Mine is lowered 1" each end, and even wit a 6" extended arm, it still handles good enough to corner as fast as public road pavement will allow....

Thanks for the Welcome and info guys.... I will be looking into the 2" drop in back and 3/4 in front and see how that looks and feels, im sure I will get the look I want out of it... I dont plan on taking this one to the stip but maybe the GPZ with a little work, only for bracket running though, we will see considering my gal wants a drag car instead... think she might win me over on that one...
Dubious, what kinda brackets do you have? plate bracket or what? I have a plate bracket already, not ideal but works for now...

yes, machined 1/4" 6061 aluminum plates allowing direct bolt up for zx10 fender.
they work great. I have sold about 30 kits to date.

Dubious, when the bike is lowered that much, how much cornering clearance do you lose? And i would bet that with the front forks dropped 3/4" it should turn a little quicker- shorter wheelbase (ya, I know, only about a 1/4" shorter but still...)
