Kawabunga, I have a pretty fast "stock wheelbase" Busa and a 4" over ZX14, do you ever bring any of these bikes you've done to the dragstrip ? I may come by Powersports tomorrow myself.

I have no secrets to keep...I will be ordering the complete stroker package including cams, springs etc.... from Mr. Muzzy within the next few weeks . I am in the process of building the website for the bike build and all will be able to see the ground up building of my concept ZX14 and will post the web address here rather than post pictures here. Hint : The bike being built is drag race specific only.
As far as the reliabilty of the MUZZY stroker kits for my ZX12 clients, attention to detail and proper assembly and fitment have rendered no issues, but a lot smiles and broken busa hearts.
Mr. Muzzy's products are of the highest quality available and with the R&D that he and his staff put into the products, the only weak link will be the engine builder ,not his products.

Kawa, when you gonna do the kit, post up the results when you do, and post the link for your website, i'm real interested in this project.

lol back at you then. I was gonna donate to the cause.... but I guess you dont like free money do you... lol
Don't take me wrong here I am very greatfull about the Bikeland members offering their cash to do this build ....Money is not that easy to come by these days.... But i just can't bring myself to take money from other bikeland members... Call me crazy but that is the way i feel about it ...My next tests will be ported head and a set of cams for the zx14 ...A big bore or stroker will have to wait till i get more funds...Also i will be working with Brock on my new zx10....All this comes out of my pocket so when I tell you it works or doesn't work you will be able to trust the info given ...

Same goes for you Smokin, when are you gonna do the heads and cams............please post up the results as soon as you do, i'm real interested.

I understand and respect that you are a stand up guy and dont want to take money from other board members..........but i just want to say that the information you provide and are willing to provide is invaluable, i made the offer in good faith and should you ever change your mind the offer still stands............i've been really interested to hear a write up of head porting and cams or a stroker kit for years, before i would ever make that commitment i would want to hear quantifiable results from someone i trust.

Thanks Mike ...The head is at the head porter and i'm waiting on him .... I'm going with new cams ( 380 lift ), springs and retainers....Also i will be adding a thin head gasket while it's all apart ....This package should make 210 to 212 HP .. I'm told it will have more torq in the hole curve ....

I went( 2) 5.79s and 5.77 once the rest were low 5.80s. I still can find the mph that some of these guys are running. 60ft ranged from 1.38~1.44 but mph only hit 123 once. 121~122 seems to be it for me, I must have a slow one ! Once I get the shifter maybe I can concentrate on getting tucked a little better.

I'm curious are cams complicated to put in................i've seen lots of people say how critical instalation is with a stroker.......are cams more of a drop in or is installation skill as critical as a stroker crank............i wouldnt be doing the instalation of either myself but i'm just wondering if thats something one of the local places can do or if if you should drive or ship the bike cross country to a top engine builder for cams?

Mike, you wanted an All-Motor Monster...DO IT!!!! If you decide to get this done, let me know and I'll find out who can get it done for you. Leave the stroker alone.

Cam installation and degreeing is very critical and not to be done by the novice builder or inexperienced. I prefer making my HP & Torque with motor only. It's way to easy to turbo or spray a motor to get the HP. A real engine builder knows how to do it without the eye candy. The ZX14 motors are only limited by the $$ a person wants to spend to develop the motor to its full potential. Kawasaki did a good job with the motor but in my opinion they should have designed removable cylinders rather than incorporate them into the block. I understand why they did it. Stroker motors are not a bad thing. I have been building strokers since the early 70's, from HD, Triumph to all the big four's. The dependability and longevity is based on the engine builder. I wil be happy to assist you Mike.

I'm seriously considering it Jeff..........basically i would like a bike that reliably puts out 210-220 horses and has about the same lowend as stock with more midrange and wicked topend rush......the thing is i dont want to lose alot of the lowend power the 14 has...........i'm thinking cams, increased compression and head porting are what i'm looking for......thats why i'm REAL interested in Smokins tests of cams, head porting and increased compression.

How bout you, you gonna put any of that tax free money into the bike or is it all going towards a new truck?
