My zx12 never did it.....

BUT, I bought a motor from PA that did....., all the rubber was hard......, temps? COLD, then HOT, maybe? Mine has always been a drag bike, garage or trailer kept.......

I took the gasket off my motor and put it on the new one.......

But, Ditto zx12mark.......

as i said the oil leak wasn't the only reason mine went. but fack a bike i gotta bandaid up. the kawi reps had it 3 times and on the 4th leak and the day after the twisties at deal's gap it was gone :P

and i'd be lieing if I said i didn't enjoy my 14, I'm not knocking mine.

but read the posts, a lot of 'em leak and require the many bandaids suggested in this thread and many others.

my leakie biatch was sweet!

"me Dave, dayum thats harsh- That was only one of the reasons mine was traded, 3 times in the shop and Kawi couldn't fix it. Other reasons are it was time to trade, and it was the first big bike I owned and the whole time I had it I was wishing I was on a litre bike.

I'm not knockin' the bike though, but I will say I'm not having a pain in the ass around for very long either. I don't buy bikes to hassle with em and patch 'em up with 3M products and such. Kawasaki shortened the bolts on one try, then replaced all these parts on other tries

I forgot to tell them to "weatherstrip it" when they replaced all this crap:"

the drag racing guys use weatherstripper all the time on cars for header gaskets when nothin else will seal, but high temp exhaust sealer will do as well. you traded because you wanted a litre bike, nothing wrong with that. hell one trip to smokin's shop or Kyle's shop would have solved all your leaks. instead you took it to a kaw shop repeatedly that you admit did shoddy work and left your bike filthy. the fact your bike leaked repeatedly wasn't its fault.
not being harsh but i still think it is a little premature to trade something in for such a minor issue, but everyone has a tolerance level. as far as it being a lemon pleeease.....

you know how much labor is involved in getting to the valve cover gaskets, I can't beleive everyone makes out like its a "5 minute bandaid fix". -

I'll take a bike that doesn't require all this and is delivered correctly from the get-go or bail. I've owned so many bikes and this has been the only one that blew massive oil on the fairing anyway, and none of my other Kawi's were ever a problem and I'm not knocking Kawi.

No matter what brand/type bikes I own in the future, I absolutely will not own a hassle.

I'm sure i could've continued to take the ZX14 back to kawi or to any shop, it wasn't worth my hassle. If my Honda track bike or my street bikes give me headaches -----> REPLACED :P
