Weight differences zx14 vs zx10

question. Is the weight difference in the motors or the frame ect. I picked up my 14 motor and if figure it weights anywhere from 150 to 200pounds maybe more. Im sure the 10 motor must weight less but how much less. Smokin said his 10 looked similar to the 14 on the exhaust side. The 14 motor on a 10 would be a horrific combination. Just any idea

uhmmm the motor AND the frame weigh more on the 14. look at the size difference of both bikes, then figure the 350 something Ccs more on the 14 engine.....

The ZX10 is a kneedragger!

yea i understand that about the frame. Im wonder the weight of the motor. im sure it couldnt be a 100 pound difference in the motor. I think the motors may be close in weight. I could be wrong though

well i cked the sportrider site. Compared to the other bikes the 14 is a good weight being 474 dry. From what i saw bikes that had similar frames but larger motors was around a 30 to 40 pound difference. If the 10 is 350 dry its the lightest thing ever. Their site only went up to 05,06 on some bikes. But lets say the 14 motor is 50lbs heavier. That still would make the bike 400 lbs. Boy that would be a crazy bike. At 350 no wonder smokin having a hard time keeping it down.

Thats an interesting project!
Got more info and pics, or links?
Who's bike is it? who built it? who runs it?

sounds cool.
impracticle but cool.

I used to have a vega with a 454 stuffed in it, and have built 2 CR500AF's.
I like shoving big things in small holes and running them hard .... LOL
