Aftermarket Exhaust and Engine Heat

Will adding a freer flowing exhaust like a two brothers with PCIII help alleviate some of the engine heat on a 2007 ZX14?
Thanks,
Bob

I don't think so... These bikes run hot regardless... If you go with an aftermarket exhaust... get it ceramic coated!!! It makes a world of difference... or so I am told!

Yes, as most of the heat comes from the very high temps created by the cats in the pipes in front of the mufflers. Just adding slip-ons would be a big improvement. LSL

YES... The stock pipes have cats that run very hot. A full 4 into 1 system helps with that.

I live in Phoenix. ( very hot place) I have 20,000 + mi on my 06 14.

IT HAS NEVER OVERHEATED.... but it does get hot

Yes it does. I have Two Brothers slipons on my 2006 zx14, and had major issues with heating to redline (top bar) numerous times in 90 degree weather until I put the slipons on. After that it ran alot cooler on the gauge (one to two bars lower IMO), but the heat coming off the bike was very very noticeably lessened. I also bought a Muzzy's fan for the radiator, and header wrap, but never got around to putting them on because the problem 'solved itself' with both mileage and the slipons. Yes, mileage helped me both get more power and stop heating up so much. After 2500 miles or so it leveled off power wise. I assume heatwise, too, but its now winter so I dont know...

Running a free flow exhaust makes quite a difference indeed. This is after owning 2 ZX14's, both equipped with aftermarket 4 into 1's.
