Update ...
Wel it didn't go as well as i would have liked ..For one it was much hotter today and a ton of humidity unlike the drier cool air we had last week ..
I only got a few runs in before the storm clouds rolled in but it did run in the 5.90s every pass ..The last pass was my best 5.94@ 121.79 .. 60 footer was 1.53 ...One run i had a 1.49 but only ran a 5.95 ... This bike is tricky to go fast on , it's so much easier to do it on my zx14 because of the low end power ...
So the gear change only helped a little bit and the heat slowed me down some ...Maybe with more seat time the gear change will prove its worth ....
Still all and all 5.90s with no pipe , p/c on pump gas is pretty good in my book ....I'm still waiting on a pipe and map from Brock ...That should wake it up some ...

so what do you think thus far? Mute point to try and compete with the 14 or no? Seems like a lot of work which is more like a lot of fun. A healthy challenge is always good.

Bawls My feelings right now are i think they are going to end up running the same numbers mod for mod .... The zx10 may end up being a bit faster , i'll know for sure when Brock sends me a pipe and map ...
One thing i can tell you for sure is the zx14 is much easier for the avg joe to go fast on ..
The zx10 is very hard bike to ride Becuase of its light weight and tall first gear ...You need a very very good clutch hand for the zx10 ..
I may in time go faster on the zx10 than the zx14... For sure it's going to take alot more seat time to get the best out of the zx10.. The zx14 is a Caddy with a 500 inch torq monster and the zx10 is Vega with a small block chevy stuffed in it .. Apples and oranges for sure ...

I should add this : The clutch on the zx10 is holding up very good so far and the slipper part of the clutch is not causing any problems ...The feel is much like the zx14 but the zx14 in my book is still a bit better ....It would be almost impossible to have a better clutch than a zx14....

good stuff my man. Which one do you feel would be the king of the mile out of the two? Is the 1000 going to be able to put up the numbers on the big end? or is it going to fall short due to lack of wind protection? As powerful as it is, i wouldn't think that that would be too much of a problem. Wild bros went 200 mph at maxton on a vmax.

I only made a few passes on my zx14 STOCK and my zx10 STOCK ... They were very close in ET and MPH , So No real winner ....But i would say for the Avg rider you would go faster on the zx14 ...I would also add > if you are over 180 pounds you would go faster on the zx14 because of the extra low end power will handle the extra weight .... If you are 150 pounds like me you may end up going faster on the zx10 ..

Bawls I'm 1/4 mile guy and have no clue about what it takes to go 200 in a mile ....My guess is in the long run the zx14 will win.. Kawi did say they worked real hard in the zx10 aeros and it should be very slippery ...But I will have to let someone with more info on racing the mile answer that question ...

good read. the 08 zx10 times are real close to my 07's times....5.90's at 120 mph with mid to high 1.4's 60's. the bike has 800 miles on it. 60 and a half in's long -2 +2 stock pipes pump gas. foot shifting. rider 145. its got a pc on it.

4get d 04 and 05 R1 i had, i had to launch it 10-11k on d streets, then i had a 05 ZX10 all hooked up, PCIII Dynoed, sprocket and full exh., BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS NEW 10R. I was cruisin on breakin in, and i needed to speed up, just little twist on throtle, she climbed and kicked in, I had only 1 hand on d bar, was trying to relax, LOL, it threw me back and i was like WTF.

my 07 was a hand full with the stock arm. it run 6.20's at 119 to 120 mph with low 1.5 60's went throw 3 oil pan's be for i give up on it and put a 3 to 9 arm on it. the two up on the back did not do much for my time's. i am looking to get the 08 to run on gas and turbo the 07. good luck with your 08 smoking that thing looks like it will be a beast win you get it worked out.

Just a little update
I haven't rode the zx10 in a few weeks because i was playing with my zx14 ... No changes to the bike from my last outting ...The bike has 77 miles on it now and maybe 15 passes ... I got my 60s down to a 1.457 and made a 5.87 @ 122 ...The MPH is down from my last outting but we had a killer head wind so that may account for the loss of MPH ...Well at least it's in the 5.80s now ...I think it will go low 5.80s with some more seat time ... I'm feeling pretty good about this 08 zx10 running this fast with NO pipe or tune on 87 pump gas... It still needs more gear but i'm going to wait on changing it till i get it piped and tuned ..It may not need gear after a Brocks pipe and tune ...
Brock is sending me the prototype pipe from Lee Hindle as soon as they get done testing it ..:thumbsup: I don't know if it will be a Gen 3 or a Smeg or an Alien head ...I'm in hopes it will be an Alien head but i'll take whatever he sends me to test ..
