Where'd you guys purchase your eliminator?
I'll have my '08 14 soon and was wanting to purchase the eliminator now so I can put it on as soon as I get it home. Any suggestions?
Here's Muzzys, looks like a great price:

Moto Fab makes a good product, but he's temporarily out of product for the ZX-14. I wouldn't go with the Muzzy only because it uses the stock light, which is really large and clunky looking. It takes away from the look you're trying to get by removing that whole piece to begin with. Go with one of the kits that uses no light, or a tiny LED replacement. Much smaller and smoother looking.
Here is what the Moto fab looks like. Notice the small LED plate light. Without the large, clunky original light, the plate sits much higher. I'd go for a similar product (or contact Moto Fab), there are a lot out there. Good luck.

ZX14 fender eliminator?
MixerMike has the Muzzy. Its alright but still big and used the huge factory light.
Rumble Concept <---that one comes with the tiny white LED, perfect bracket, excellent customer service, etc. It looked so good on bigdtd's bike and was the nicest I had seen so I bought one too

I don't know, depends on your state. And if you ride mostly during the day, do you need that light?
Here are two links, so you can compare prices and product:

http://www.minusonefender.com/zx14_zzr1400.htm
There are lots of others out there, just do a search.

Thanks. Yeah I've never had a light. Not many do around here. I've never seen them atleast unless they have the factory tail on.
I will check out these sites you both posted. Thanks.

+1
Two L-shaped brackets and a little RTV to plug the extra holes. I also mounted a small "licence plate LED" directly above the plate. I spent a total of $7.
I just don't understand how these 'brackets' cost so damn much. Its a bent peice of metal. IMHO, you're getting azz-raped if you spend more than $10 on this mod. Don't get me wrong, if there is a plug-n-play mod that saves me time, I'm all over it---but the cost of these brackets just don't warrent their asking price.

$79.00....that is Exactly what I'm talking about. Damn. Looks good, but I already know I'm ridin' a ZX-14.
For that price, they could at least powdercoat it, chrome it or maybe buff it to a good shine.

Actually, I would've paid for one of those on my 12. After losing a 2nd plate on my hotbodies undertail, I fixed it correctly. Later I found out that hotbodies would ship you a free metal bracket to replace the cheap plastic crap that came with the undertail. I still hate Hotbodies.

The best way is to go to home depot and buy some "L" brackets. Take off the stock fender, install you plate with the "L" brackets and get a small LED light to light up the plate. I have this light and its barely noticeable and its actually pretty bright. Maybe 25 bucks total with the light costing the most at about $20.

Home depot is the way to go! Plus i can bend the bracket up a little more and it makes very hard to read my tag. Some of the law enforcement get a little mad but they usually tell us that it makes it hard to read! ; -)

I had Super Fuzz in his camaro pull me over fot that...I thought the bastid was gonna pull his gun on me. What a prick. He left me alone when I told hime "I'm in the military and I don't run from anyone." Filed a complaint, never heard anything about it. No ticket though.

Its actually the easiest and cleanest type of intall. All of the holes are already there so you won't have to drill any. Takes maybe 20 minutes to complete and looks great. No need to pay 40-50 bucks for a bracket and still not have a light.
Depending on your location, the light is going to be the key to stop you getting pulled over. In some places cops hassle you about your plate not being lit up and wanna stop your for license and insurance which is no problem if your not riding dirty. Just no need for the extra attention when your at a bike night or riding in a group.
