flies are short for "Fly outfits" IE cool, hip clothes you gotta wear when you have a 14. Slip-ons are for the fluffy slip-on slippers in vogue nowadays amongst the Rapper group. So if you gotz both of them, you are the shiznit!

Ahh, i have been told different about the stock 08, it still is about 10 ft lbs shy of flies out!
and stock for stock the 08 only makes a 3-5 more rwhp

Don't listen to him....
Many times we ultra sportbike guys are accused of some sort of compensation issue....
So.... in order that we are not caught off guard in the little boys room or in the middle of a who's the biggest argument...
We now have a ZX14" slip-on... so when the flies drop.... it's no contest

----Well Jezze Dub the 06-07s didn't have a third intestinal blockage in the head pipe. When thats drilled out and slipons installed they're is little to be gained except for top end ,with thousand dollar systems. Just guessing..Compair busa 1 stock header with 08 14 header quite a differance. Jack

First of all: Damn that silver looks good! Would trade my red one in a second for that color!
And for your avatar: just take a photo you want to use, downsize it to 120x120 pixels then up at the top left of your screen is a underlined link titled "Profile". Click it, then go into your profile. In the avatar area (first option at top of that page) click "Browse" and find it on your computer. It will download to Bikeland and be there forever. Or until we have another round of avatar mix-up and you end up with someone elses avatar.... lol
If you dont know how to resize, here's the simple way: Open the pic in Microsoft Paint program (all windows have it), click on the "Image" tab at top, go to "Attributes" and resize it. Might want to crop the photo first, cut off the edges etc. because once its shrunk down most times the photo doesnt look right. Good Luck!

No crap Armour all on any of my tires, that's just a tire foam that restores the rubber and adds a little beauty. I drove the bike all the way from Tucson to Prescott the day I brought it home, since then I've taken one trip over to Camp Verde, I still have less than 400 miles on it . As soon as I get 500 to 600 miles I'm heading down 89 to Yarnell, then on to Hwy 71 south, then north on 93 to Hwy 97 east, then back through Kirkland, talk about a fantastic ride on a bike or a sports car!!!!!! If you haven't taken that route, I recommend it to all you guys, you won't forget it!
Thanks,

Hey Kawboy14, just a little bit of advice: Men don't normally use this term when talking to other men - "That's one sexy ass bike." Unless ..... naw, aint even going there. lol
I do love those Z06's though! What's not to love about 500+ hp stock in a classic American roadster like that? It's ALMOST perfect! Just got a few too many wheels. Though if it was the the new ZR-1 (Bluedevil) I might change my mind about those extra 2 wheels. Can't wait to race one of those! A bit spendy for a Corvette, though. $100,000!!

It's faster than a Z06 (remains to be seen how much faster), but it ain't no high 9 seconds in the quarter fast! The only chance it would have of keeping up with a ZX-14 would be from a roll, but even my Z06 would give the 14 a run from a roll!
Many of us Corvette enthusiasts believe the extra 100HP, beefed up suspension and a few extra pieces of carbon fiber just don't justify an extra $30k for the ZR1, but those with money to spare will buy anyhow. For $72k the Z06 offers 90% of a ZR1 and has more power and handling than most people are able to deal with! And besides, you can get a new Z06 at a pretty good discount ($5k to $8k off), now that the mad rush is over. Many of us just can't see spending $100k for a glorified Z06!

I can't see spending $100K on a car period! Of course, thats because I only make the exact median income for the city of Seattle (they just did an article on it and the income they listed was only $4 less than what I earned last year. pretty funny)
I do plan on buying a used Z06, figure around $25K for a '04-06'. Now thats a deal I could never regret!
As far as giving a run for your money, I raced one of those new Viper GTS's a couple weeks ago on my 14. Ran 3 times, me behind him, and only once did I have to really let up to keep from running into him - when we left from a dead stop. That damn thing moves out really hard! I've raced a early 2000's Z06, and a 2007 Z51, and both of those 'vettes couldn't pull like that viper did above 100mph. Damn that thing was fast! Our last run was 50mph to aprx. 175mph, both got on it at same time, I was able to stay exactly one car back the whole time, and even had a little bit of throttle left. Didn't have enough to even think about passing him though.
Of course, he did have some kind of DOT legal race tire on it, and 2 different speed shop logo's in his rear window along with some kind of writing on the fenders that I never could make out. But you know those Viper guys, put a friggin K&N air filter on it and they think there car now qualifies for endorsements. lol

You won't see a 2006 C6 427 Z06 for anywhere near $25k (more like $53k to $63k), but you can pick up an older C5 2001 to 2004 somewhere in the neighborhood of $25k to $40k. I think the 14 would have trouble pulling my Z06 from a 50mph roll, after 100mph the Z06 would really be hard to run away from, that's when it pulls unbelievably hard! ((( ; I took it all the way to 191mph last summer on Route 66, I can't imagine taking a bike anywhere near that speed. (( ;

I lemon lawed my Z06. Loved it when it wasn't in the shop, though.
One thing is for sure...my ZX-14 will pull away from the Z easily at any speed. It's just no contest.

I went to their site and checked the spacers out. I wish they could raise them a little higher than 3/4", but they said the bars hit either the tank or windshield. I see they were able to raise the bars 1 3/4" to 2" on some of the other models, that seems odd they can't do it with the ZX-14? If 3/4" is all I can raise them then I'll have to go with that, but I know 1 1/2" to 2" higher would be perfect and much more comfortable!
Thanks for the tip!
EFE ZX-14
Older models of the ZX-14 could go as far as 2 inches. I test rode an 06 ZX-14 that we measured the Heli spacers at 2 inches. I did notice that the inside corner on both sides were ground down. I think even at 2 inches the bars would hit the tanks unless you got rid of thatcorner.
The reason you cant raise them past 3/4 on the 08's is because the fairing is lower than the 06. If you take a look at the right bar when the wheel is locked, you'll see you only have about 3/4 inch before the thottle cables hit the underside of the fairing.
I'm looking too as I just got my 08 ZX-14 on 3/15, followed by shoulder and knee surgery. I just got my sitches removed 2 days ago and went for a 40 mile ride. I definately need to get more upright too.
Good luck in your hunt.
