Do Mirrors really make a difference in your 1/4 mile ET
Just about everyone I race with has taken thier mirrors off and replaced with mirror block-offs. I do alot of street riding and like to have my mirrors. My question for you guys is does leaving the mirrors on the bike really hurt you 1/4 mile E/T's. Also, if it does make a difference, how hard are the mirrors to take off and put back on??

The mirrors are pretty simple to remove, just remove the tow covers that run along the inside upper and there are two acorn nuts (10mm), and then remove. Personally, I am like you and do too much street to take them off so I leave them on. As far as ET, the way I look at it is Kaw did all the wind tunnel testing with the mirrors on, I can't see how they hurt that much. I even leave mine in the open position, if you are bracket racing they come in handy from time to time.

I like the way it looks without mirrors.

I doubt they make any measurable difference in a quarter. Just an aesthetic thing, the bike looks better without and they are so simple to remove, a five minute job at the most. Some tracks will have you tape them up, it's easier to whip them off.

Your mirrors probably won't effect ET that much. The mirrors on my bike cost me a tenth in the 1/8.
