I like the short life softys for the twisty track and canyons Piraili Super corsa and Michelin power race no water grooves just rubber on the edges for hot sticky traction. Try a hard touring tire for high miles if that is all you are going to do.

Michelin Road Pilot 2 those are supposed to be the best for those of us who have lots of straight miles to cover and have a softer compound for the cornering. Those will be my next set once the new tires I have are done.

I'm looking at a set of those as well. I wish that i could find a cheap set of wheels to have as a spare so that i could run Shinko U-softs at the track.

From what i've heard they're not a good tire if you do any commuting because since they've got such a soft compound they tend to get a flat spot and only last 2-3500 miles. If that's the case then they don't really belong in this thread.

Got news for you Bawls, maybe you don't belong in this thread. You come in here, talking a bunch of smack, give it a break, you might learn something.

Some of you guys may want to consider the BT002, racing, on the front and racing street on the rear. I used 014's on my twelve, they're a great tire, but the racing front is keeping it's profile much longer and the racing street rear is going much further before it flattens out in the center. It looks like the center compound is much harder than the 014, yet the sides are softer. Easier to light up going down the road if it's a bit smooth, but sticks like glue in the corners.

Why don't you open your fuckin eyes before you open your mouth. I was saying that i didn't know if it was true or not, hoping someone that runs them would shed the light on the situation. I'm not in here "talking smack". One thing that you need to realize is that this is a message board and people are going to post different opinions. I'm trying to learn things just the same as everyone else is, but i'll raise the bullshit flag if need be. No need for you to get all Red assed over me saying that i heard the pilot powers tend to get a flat spot. I believe that this thread isn't about whether or not the pilot power is a superior tire to every other that is out there. We fucking get it. Pilot power, pilot power, pilot power. Oh yeah, did i mention that michelin makes a pilot power? I'm all ears on the subject because like i've previously stated, i'm looking to buy a good tire to commute on that will still hook up at the track. Have you had the BT002 at the drag strip any? You said that it's easier to light up going down the road. What are it's Characteristics at the drag strip? I don't want to draw any conclusions about it without your permission sir. Thank you for opening my eyes to the fact that we are no longer aloud to question anything that we've heard on the internet.

Bawls,
If I want any lip from you, I'll scrape it off my zipper.

Regarding the BT002's, I have gone through 2 rear racing street's and the front , racing compound is still looking good. Everyone seems set on the Michelins, I have run em on the 12 and absolutely killed a front in less than 2 rears. I got better luck out of the BT014's but nothing like these 002's.
Doesn't anyone run the BT's in the states?

The 014's are a great tire, but way to soft in the center. I actually killed one in 2000 km's, that was one ride and I was trying to run with a buddy on a genuine Isle of man spec R1.
I had to get a tire sent on the bus from Bangkok just so I could make it home.

It's all " in the wrist"
