$24,000 fine is for dui, or other criminal code convictions, not for a speeding ticket though...

am I reading this right?

I have no problem with them hanging the drunk drivers out to dry.
Problem is, they will only become more hazardous attempting to outrun and avoid getting caught.

Talking with a traffic cop he states that it is any combination of convictions ,seat belt , excessive speed, failure to yield etc can add up to the max fine , i also fully think that any DUI should be suspended from driving period and fined the max.

Gotta be reading that wrong Peter.
the 10 th excessive speeding conviction will cost $1130, starting from $320

They are talking impaird, or failing to stop, or vehicular homicide, assult with vehicle, are $24000 fines, not speeding tickets.

I caught 20km over, and your fine is $24,000

:P I don't think so....

Good luck, I had my fill of dirty cops, and bogus tickets. and harassment for owning anything other than a common grocery getter.
They pulled me over 8 times last year with out cause, just because I drive a monster truck, and fast black bike.
stereotyping, discriminating harassment.
If it didn't cost me so much money to take time off work, I'd become a little provacative, just to make a point.
If I have any inclination of opportunity to overt the situation, I will.

damn, and that was the last haven for good riding and roads were hardly even policed.

They will do the same as Alberta, now they have a money scheme in place ,,they will use it to create revenue, not to protect people.

Booooooossssssst .....
