Wanna throw up....have to sell
It's a long and personal story and if I go into it, I'm gonna puke. Suffice to say that a monetary issue has come up and I'm being forced to sell the zx-14. The damn misery of it is I just got all the parts I ordered and they're all still in the boxes. So here's the deal:
2008 Midnight Metallic Blue zx-14
~1080 miles following the break-in procedure to a "t"
Parts include: (All are still in the box, not installed)
Brock's Alien Head full system with noise reduction plug
08 PC III
Muzzy Frame sliders and Fender Eliminator kit
LP chrome speedscreen windshield
Installed Buell pegs (have originals too)
Bike has never been down, like new condition.
Will sacrifice @ 12K for everything. If I can't get that.........well it's insured.
I'm in the Tampa, FL area. Help a brother out :-)

great price. I assume you put it in the classifieds section of this site? I'll mention this deal around Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater too.
Hanging a for sale sign on it at QSL on Wednesday nights should sell it quickly too.

Hmmmm.....do I even reply to this? It's a little like pro-wrestling don't you think? Naw, I won't explain it to you as I'll likely insult your "intelligence" by doing so. Good advice. I'll get it up on the classifieds section.....just as soon as I find it....LOL. I'd take it to QSL but I really don't want to put any more miles on it. The new owner should get it in as pristine condition as possible. Let me know if you do run into anyone that would want it. Parts and all I believe it is a good deal.....thanks for the feedback.

I took my bike to a rally and towed it around in an open trailer for about a week. I got lots of phone calls. Sold with a week for pretty good price. I put Zero miles on it that week. Just a thought. Maybe the back of a pickup with the # on the rear windshield of the truck. It worked for me. Good luck with the sell, hope you get your finances ironed out and back on your feet soon.
Also, I'd try to sell the other parts outright. Chances are, someone will want to finance the bike, so cheaper is better. The revenue generated can also help pay down the balance of your loan in case you have to drop the price a bit(I'm assuming its financed). Just my 2 cents.
FWIW, the 'its insured'....I'd never say that to anyone, much less on the net.

Good idea, thanks for sharing. Might have to toss it up into the bed of the truck. None of the bike or parts are finanaced. Paid cash, title is in hand.

Yeah, I understand your point. However, FBA's response was completely out of line and rude. Throw out the question, sure, but insults? The more I thought about it I wasn't really all that surprised. I was rude, because you're being a complete jackass by posting garbage like that here, not to mention that you ruin the experience for the rest of us honest bikers. It's a big reason that insurance rates on sportbikes are so high and that's a fact that you can research all by yourself. My insults were in line with your sensless comment. I doubt it was out of line with anything I said to you. What you're perpetuating, is a crime that will land you in jail if you're caught. -- and you tell me I have "something to prove"...ya right.

try craigslist.org to advertise it with pics. it won't cost you anything. that is the way i sold mine recently . just update in 4 to 5days.

Hey all.
I'm after a ZX14 for about $3k. Guess it doesn't matter if I can't find one for that price - can just steal one. No one hear should have any reason to be upset with me if I do.

WTF IS going on here. the guy said it was a joke let it go!!!! We are getting as bad ass Busa riders over here. It seems like everyone that makes their first few post gets either labeled as a troll or ridiculed till they no longer want to post... Last I checked this is America and if the guy wants to go out and do something stupid go ahead, there are channells that will deal with that. But DAMN what happened to the feeling of community and kindness and understanding of fellow motorcyclist!!! Just FYI though I think you are WAY high on the price you are asking for the bike!!! you lose 25-30% as soon as you ride it off the lot and it was what new 11,299 SO thats about what 2800-3500 off for the bike so we will call it 3100 so 8000 plus 750 for the pipe I would guess about 200 for the PC and 75 for the frame sliders and then 50 for the windscreen I think between 9000-9500 is a fair price! Just FYI I can buy a brand new one in Arkansas for 10,200 OTD pluss 1000 for the pipe and 250 for the power commander that is still only 11,450 for a BRAND NEW ONE!!!! This is actually one of my pet peevs people are WAY TO PROUD OF THEIR BIKES!!! They are jsut like cars THEY TAKE A HUGE HIT IN VALUE AS SOON AS THEY ARE TITLED!!! now given bikes dont decrease much after that initial depreciation so in 2 years you could probably still get close to 8500 for it but come one man 12K is practically RETAIL for a USED BIKE!!!! but good luck with the sale and I hope all works out for you!!

Well, I think you're probably right but sometimes it depends on what part of the country you're standing in. Those in the winter states can get things a little more on the cheap. Here in FL there is no off season so discounts are not as easy to come by. I may lower it to 9500 but that's just gonna be the bike, no parts. I'll sell the parts outright, since they're all uninstalled and brand new. Lastly, thanks for the other comments too. I wasn't going to mention this cuz it's nobody's business but the fact is my bike was never insured in the first place. Steve can probably confirm that in FL the law doesn't require insurance on a bike that has no lean on the title. Since I pay cash, and like you said these bikes aren't worth anything, I've never insured any sportbike. My gixxer's, my 2 BMW K1200R's, and this bike were all uninsured. Price is too high for it. I have two Harley's that together total almost 80K which I paid cash for and they're insured to the max. Together the insurance on those bikes wouldn't even come close to this one. Thanks again bro, a level-headed stand up guy.

....if you paid cash, you probablly got it a bit cheaper than the price other folks pay for these things off the floor.
Your thread has taken a wierd twist...good luck on the sell.
Definitely sell the extra parts and the bike separately.
