200 is good but he got 197 out of the 06. The aeros on the busas have always been better for high speed runs.

I don't care if Brock found a way to make the Hayabusa give you a blowjob and grow tits from the tank. Bring on the ZX-14 workup!

Brock is a great guy and his products are the best in the business but I was expecting more from the bike.

Let's see-- 200 RWHP, the finest in aftermarket products = 202 mph tops with a 165 lb experienced rider and no headwind?

Hmmm - It looks like no (stock engine) Busa is going to break any of my records.

ZX-14 - Still the fastest production (stock engine) bike in the World.

Flyboy -- how is the ZX14 the fastest stock engine production bike in the world? The Busa did 202 on a stock engine -- has he had a 14 do that yet?

Steve,

It states it in the FIM World record book.

Besides, Brock got over 200 last year at Maxton on the 14. BobC and his buddy did over 204 mph in England last year on a stock engine 14.

One other point regarding my records--The strip at Maxton is only 220 ft. above sea level and it's a paved surface. Do you ever wonder why Bike manufactors will only bring their bikes out to Maxton to go after top speed numbers and never bring them to Bonneville? The density altitude during Brocks runs was about 500 ft. above sea level. The density altitude when I set my records was 6,700 ft. I was running on 12-15% less horsepower than Brock's new Busa and I did 195 mph (on Brock's exhaust I might add). And that was running both directions for a mile. Math junkies tell me that would have been 205 to 210 mph at sea level. If Brock had run his new Busa during those same conditions he might have broken 191 mph. The older Busa's were only doing around 185 mph that week.

After reading Brock's diary I can only conclude that Brock was either given a lemon or the "new and improved Busa" is an aerodynamic Edsel. Anyway, the 14 is still the fastest (top speed) no matter what any magazine says. You guys have a great bike--

Have you ever ran at Maxton? I'm guessing not. If you HAD ran at Maxton, you'd know that speeds at Bonneville and Maxton speeds are NOT that different. See, Bonneville you're fighting the traction and elevation but you have miles and miles of distance to get up to speed. Maxton has better traction (but not good either... it's full of dirt and potholes) and is close to sealevel.... BUT YOU ONLY HAVE 1 MILE to get up to speed!

Ask anyone who's ran at both bonneville AND maxton with the same bike, their speeds are very similar at both events. They are two different animals, but neither has a clear advantage over the other in terms of speed.

Do I think 202+mph is impressive for a 200rwhp Busa with Lee riding? Hell no. My personal 1287cc ZX-12R ran 205.6mph with only 195rwhp at Maxton, just a couple hours after Lee's 202+mph pass. Heck, the 1350cc all motor record is 214.7mph at Maxton, done on an 00' 1348cc Busa by ACE PERFORMANCE.

What IS impressive is the fact that it's a stock engine.

BTW, the guys in England run with 20+mph tailwinds and 1.6mi distance.... everytime. Give Brock's Busa and Lee another 0.6 miles and a big tailwind.... he would have gone 209+mph easily.

Try and keep things in perspective buddy....
