I'm surprised at the brakes, seems my 14's brakes were still better then the Busa's. The new Busa is night and day better then the old, but don't seem as strong to me as the 14. And to me the handlling goes to the Busa for my weight but maybe not someone lighter.

I own a 07 zx-14 and an 08 Busa.My two cents would be,

zx-14 brakes,lights,instrumentation,less vibration,and comfort.

Busa tranny, better turn in,and just a hair more power.

Man I am so interested in which bike handles the best after a suspension tuner has set 'em up acording to a persons weight. My '06 ZX14 wouldn't rate it was so silly soft, but I'm reading the new ZX14 is better in the back and better fork motion under hard braking in the front.

I wonder if removing the flies would change the outcome of the 0-100 roll on at all?? and I wonder what gear they were started in. That seems like a fairly good comparison If you notice the busa wins all the Factual actual numbers but the 14 either wins or ties in the ones that are opinion

I was suprized about the brakes also , i felt the zx14 would win that one hands down ... And on the handling the busa would have won hands down .....

On to the bottom end power ?? Why did it tie 0 to 60? That should have been a loss for the zx14 with flys in place but both ran it in 2.78

I still think it's up to the rider....... Pick the one you like and go riding ..

so the new busa must handle way better than the old. To me the old busa was extremely heavy down low. The 14 seemed more nimble and easier to turn and lean. I thought the new busa had but a few changes. If it rides any thing like the old i would still prefer the 14.

I'm also surprised about the brakes -- that's a very substantial difference and I'd have thought nothing could beat the 14's brakes. Handling out of the crate, ya I can see that...ZX14 isn't setup for more than touring, but I'd bet at least equal once tuned. 0-100 -- too close to really mention, but the 14 runs very rich up top to start with.

The new busa feels like a totally diferent bike. I didn't think there would be that big of a difference until I through a leg over it. They{zuki} had to improve some things, kawi raised the bar in 06.

A couple of these categories had too be bogus. The only thing they gave hands down to the 14 was the ergoes and suspension, so how was the overall still a tie?! How is it the Busa stops 8 feet shorter in a 60-0 braking than the 14 when the 14 has the best brakes out there on any sport/sport touring bike? Even the fellows with the 08 Busa that have ridden the 14 are surprised by this. Bogus!

Performance:
If Kaw would take those damn useless flys out and not have the bike overly rich from the factory, this bike would really rock in every category, from the 0-60, 0-100 and the 1/4 mile. Everybody bitched about the flys in 06 and 07, so what did Kaw do, the put the damn things back in again. They progressed in one area, (the head work) but take away in another area, (the flys). That's so contradictory. The Busa will continue to have more lower end torque and power as long as Kaw continue on with these restrictions. Kaw is under achieving too much again, just like they did trying to make the 12 as good as the busa in performance. Shit, let loose and let the 14 have it's full potential instead of half stepping on such a great bike.

Well the only thing about the brakes is I think we all assume the front brake, but maybe together front and rear the Busa does stop better, I can't say for sure because I rarely ever use the rear brake. I know the 14's front brake felt stronger then my 08 Busa. And they should not even rate the ergos cause everbodys different. i hardly notice any difference between the two bikes. and bottom line which ever one you choose you can't go wrong. Both awsome machines and without one we would not have the other.

The flies actually open now at low RPM's on the 08 14, but not fully.

I fixed those probs with my newly accquired 14 by pulling the flies, remapping with a pc and adding a tre to get rid of the low end timing restrictions. And yes it is a whole new bike

For popping on decel -- it's old and I'll pop if I can keep the GPS indicator. Does ZERO for power...
Oh I forgot -- it's got a 1 cent resistor in it that sells for $70.000 shipped!

Is the "no timing restriction" down low a 100% fact for the '08?

I thought Kawi had played with the timing on the '08's???

The 06/07 and 08 cylinder head ports are the same.
Any difference in performance isnt from the head.

I think the exhaust system is a better design, and thats where the increase in power is coming from.
