New article about 08 ZX-14.
I got the Feburary 2008 Motorcyclist magazine in the mail today. It has a pretty good article about the 08 ZX-14.

Motorcyclist called out the 14 claiming HP decreases at 9,250 and up RPM if I read it correctly. See,ms Kawi fixed the low RPM prob and screwed the top. Kawi had such an opportunity to smoke suzuki this year. plus the article said its rich on top, so Kawi obviously wasn't screwing the top.
If its true and the top is not tuned right by Kawasaki and set too rich, YUP cycle world is probably right on thje mark stating 'busa is King of HP againregarding bike for bike out of the crate?

Umm Stevie-O, show me a STOCK SETUP bike that doesn't drop down after peak HP is attained. The drop at 9250 is normal -- what a bunch of twits they are for making that comment. Look at the stock charts on the 06/07/08...same drop; normal. All these stock pipe engines do that above peak HP...just my .02 worth.
Brocks claim on the GEN 3, was that the HP stays constant from peak up to redline, which we all have seen. So the mag is right, but it's not any different from any other stock piped bike...so they are dorks for even saying it. I bet the Busa ain't no different either, from memory...
The Busa is king of my ASS...

hey I'm not a Suzuki fan either but c'mon man 9250 isn't spinning too fast for a sportbike to pucker out due to richness!

But give or take a few hundred RPM's, that's about where all the big bore's peak out with stock pipes -- so I don't see anything really different.

The busas exhaust outlets are way larger than the 14s, more air out more hp eveyone knows the 14 is choked up.

Jason now has about 10 runs under his belt....this according to RG on Superbikes a few weeks back., where he raced RG on the ZX14 and turned 9's in his first drag race ever.
Neither of the two bikes are quicker than one another in the 1/4...it will only be about the rider each time. Brock never got the 08 14 to go as fast as the 08 Busa in recent tests; Busa beat the 14 each time, but again, all about rider. The two bikes are too close to have one beat the other consistently.
My Schwinn can beat 'em all...Captain Kangaroo says that Schwinn is the only way to go.

my 08 busa peaks at 10100 revs so top end is there pretty good, as for the comparisons busa has the 08 zx14 beat almost every test and seems to go as hard as a zx14 with a full system

oh yeah... I wouldn't trust Britton's numbers in the least... no more so than my own numbers... cuz I don't drag race. And neither does Britton. He's a stunter and unless he's changing professions, and has done some serious time-dilation and managed to become a pro... his numbers aren't reliable.
