quote: I hope its just the muffler part thats diff, from the original street meg. I have my 02 senser in the mid pipe on my bikes and dont want to have to redue the new ones. I am defenitly going to try one of the shortys. I would have installed the alein but i didnt like the semi triangle look at all. Also i dont know if any of you guys have found that the s-meg makes more torque than any pipe we have tryed.I have tested almost every ex out there, and even the sidewinders dont make as much torque.Granted we have spent a lot of dyno time on getting the a/f and e.g.t just rite for mapping but i have tryed it all on the other ex too.[ I copied brents shorty just after he posted his bike because i liked it so much and guess what more torque], It looks like brocks new ex may be even shorter, Can't wait to try it on the 06 without changing anything else at first. bill
are you saying by shortening the smeg up you gained torque?

Just from looking at the pics, I'd say yes, it has a baffle. It looks like the only difference between the smeg and the shorty is the length and bend of the midpipe...
I believe smokin ran the smeg without the baffle and said it made little or no difference.

It makes sense that a shorter pipe would make more torque in the mid and lower range, the trade off should be a few ponies up top.

I think it's the other way around BM...longer pipe=more bottom end. I could be wrong; it's happened once or twice b4.

Guys,
Hello. My name is Jason Gillum. Brock and my father grew up together here in Dayton as kids and Brock was at the hospital when I was born. I began working with Brock in 2004 in the shipping department. I left to attend MMI in Phoenix where I recently graduated (with honors). I have now returned to Brock's where he is training me in the art of GOING FAST and making sure our customers do the same. Brock explained to me how important the Bikeland forums are to him and our company. He said Bikeland is basically the voice of the ZX-14 following world wide and asked me to watch the posts and let him know if you needed him. He is the busiest he has ever been because of our move, trying to get the new location up and running properly in preparation for the 2008 season.
Answers to your questions:
Have we performed any tests on the 08 zx-14?
-Yes, we have had limited testing on our 08 ZX-14. We are unable to give numbers at this time because the testing that has been done is not complete. We always strive to perform the most thorough and fair testing possible---this takes time. We hope to post HP and TQ numbers soon. We have less than 60 dyno miles on the bike right now and the results are already very good...it would not be fair to post them as they would naturally be compared to the previous 2006 ZX-14 and 2008 Hayabusa results. Brock insists that will provide "apples to apples comparisons or nothing"----so for now he says you have to settle for nothing. Sorry
Will the system fit the 08?
-Yes. But until we finish the mapping, we will only be able to give you a temporary map as our 06 mapping is useless for the 08. FYI: our 06 mapping took MONTHS to create and perfect. We intend to have all of our 14 maps perfected by the beginning of the 2008 bike season (early March)
Right turn ground clearance?
-The short Meg sticks out just about the same as your foot peg. If you hit corners hard and scrape pegs then you may have an issue. This pipe was developed for the guys, and girls, who like the look of the Alien Head system but want to pull the baffle out for nitrous, racing, or VERY loud sound. There really is no room to bring the muffler in any tighter because of swing arm clearance.
If you have any more questions post them or email me at Jason@Brockracing.com

Thanks for addressing those questions Jason. Should we expect the pipes to be released in about two weeks or so?

Way to go Jason, I'm sure Brock appreciates you. Welcome to the forum. As you see we are an impatient bunch but we understand that it's worth the wait to get the striaght scoop from Brock's Performance. Please overlook the occasional snide comments about the hi-ya-buster. Its all in sport.

If you want the most HP buy a Muzzy. Why? moreXP and development. muzzy knows how to create horsepower better than anyone they make their own stuff and supply their own maps

Its pretty much been shown that the Brock pipes are making more power than the Muzzy's. Look how many Brock exhausts are on bikes compared to Muzzy, and Brocks customer support and developement is second to NONE.....

Has anyone done a back to back dyno test with muzzy and brock just wondering with the same bike? I know dyno # doesn't win races but i guess some people just like to have the big dyno # to show off in the parking lot. But i think Ti-Force is a exhaust that is being over looked by many. I have seen some big number from the few guys that have the Ti-Force exhaust. I haven't seen any 14 at the track with Ti-Force but then again In MD where i live its all Suz.. If the Ti-Force had a deeper sound and shorter can(but a saw can fix the shorter can problem) i would have to choose between the Alien Head and Ti-Force

Seems to me that most of the R&D on the Muzzy M-10 pipe went into the look and appearance, not horsepower... and if not, then why would Muzzy be working so hard to release a new head pipe, that still uses the same muffler??? Sounds to me like they're trying to catch up with the competition on horsepower. And I'm not bashing the Muzzy pipe, it does look good, but that doesn't win races! I agree with Kawboy... a back to back dyno test would surely answer the question on horsepower output from both pipes. My bet would be on Brock though.

i think smokin solved the back to back testing argument long ago, both guys make great pipes but the brock pipes came out on top, those were some hot threads on this forum.
