Exactly -- it doesn't run hot enough to warrant that anyway...try a C14; with dual fans, it still kicks the piss out of you heatwise...

In Florida heat, my ZX14 required no second fan or such.

I bought a second radiator off ebay from a crashed bike. I'm taking the fan from it, cutting the mounting tabs off the crashed rad and welding them on the right side of the good rad. Then I'm going to replace both fans with aluminum fans from Muzzy. That should keep it as cool as it could ever be.

I recommend everyone checking the link below and reading up on the tech info. No need to modify or add fans to your cooling system. This is the best coolant out there. Waterless and doesn't require pressure. Boil over point is 370 degrees with no pressure and or 2-5 psi of pressure, lifetime coolant, never have to change, increases horsepower, no more hot spots, increase spark with no worries of detonation etc.... I use it all my serious street and race builds....best kept secret out there. Please take the time to read ...you won't regret it.

I overheated my 14 in north Georgia in November sitting in traffic for over 30 minutes. Ambient was not much over 70, if even, and the damn thing went berserk flashing that it was overheating. My brother has a 'busa that has overheating problems and he actually melted his stock plastic fan and then swapped in the Muzzy. I figure the second unit with the Muzzy's is an easy way to fix the problem for good. Especially when every board I visit has numerous posts about people having overheating issues. An ounce of prevention and all...

If anyone who has decided to do the second fan or is thinking about adding the second fan, how would you go about plugging it or what would you plug it into?

we have tried to overheat our ZX14's in Florida. I let mine idle forever on black tarmack in the scorching heat of our mid-summer. No heat problems/no drama/angels playing harps in the background after I shut it off.

Maybe that's why the RED ones were so special.

I use the NPG+ in all my applications with great success. No need for a second fan. In all of my liquid cooled engine builds I use no cleaner or prep because of total disassembly, I soak everything coling related with hot alcohol and let drain and air dry for a 2 days. The radiators I flush with hot distilled water, drain and let air dry. This prevents any water contamination upon installation of the NPG+.

Second fan is a must witha big bore if you want to ride on the street!!! If i were you I would wire the second fan to a handlebar switch so you can turn it on and off whenever you want..
IMO.

I haven't checked amperage draw yet, but i'm wiring my two fans together (series or parallel depending on current) so they will work in tandem using the factory temp switch. I'll let you know when I check them.

To all of those who have overheat issues -- has anyone bothered to check to see if they have air in the system or flushed the rad? I've never had any issue with heat whatsoever on my ZX14's.
