Only things I'd be worried about after spending 5k for a turbo is no warranty and blowing up the motor.

dude its gonna cost me 5k to turbo my current bike and blow your new bike off the face of the planet if i wish ..... instead of starting all over with a new bike ....and lets no forget the aftermarket money thats going down the toilet ..... but hey if you got it spend it....me i don't have a money tree and i'm getting old
See - that's the thing...I spent less than 1500 for the parts on the 06 ZX and will move them all over to the 08. There was no loss other than the under 4K it cost me to move up to the 08. Makes more sense to me than buying a T/C...but to each his own I guess...

???
The SMEG and GEN3 should bolt right on.
Who is to say the current design will be optimum on the 08??

And, you'll be out riding. He'll be troubleshooting his fuel delivery and A/F ratios.
You'll be riding and he'll be going slow so not to overheat.
You'll be riding and he'll be chasing after an oil leak that developed.
You'll be riding and he'll be wondering how that rod departed the block.
You'll be riding and he'll be trying find a shop that'll work on a turbocharging overheating leaking broken 14.
And you've got a warranty, too. (Yeah, but you're right. To each idiot his own)

I can see the points on both sides. Some have money and no mechincal knowlege so they are willing to buy a new bike and or car every year because they are afaid of break downs. Others have the mechaincal knowledge and enjoy wrenching and building the bike or car that they desire. I say keep buying those new bikes and cars. In a year or two people like me will snatch them up for 1/2 the price you paid and ride them for years to come.

Rickey just posted the dyno chart on the other forum. I don't think they will sqeaze much if any more out of it . The A/F graph is looking pretty damn good for no tuning. Up to 12.4 now from 10.8 stock.

197hp w/ pipe sounds good, just makes my decision much harder.
Question:
Do you guys honestly think the power commander was ever even needed on the ZX14?
(2006-2007models) and 2008 models.
The reason I ask this is because Rickey has never put a PC3 on any of his personal bikes or school bikes, they run great and has never holed a piston, as this was the fear that many had when the bikes first came out. Rickey may know something that we have haven't been told. I do understand that this 08 bike still has the flies in, but is that the factor between safe and unsafe A/F?

Don't look like much to be gained with pc unless you would want to spray.

Unless your doing land speed racing I'd say there is not much to adjust. Maybe richen it up a little under 5K at WOT.

I agree on more power from a Brocks system, but I would say 4 to 6

X3 on Brock's system and the HP numbers to gain. I've noticed though that after my 14 hit around 12-1300 miles, it got a new attitude, not sure why but it sure seemed to run harder than b4.
