Okay I know a lot of people are getting tired of reading the stuff . when I posted this topic it was basically to say that it is very unusual for a stock R1 to be able to outrun a ZX14
and a lot of people are criticizing me.. basically what were implying if you have a stock zx14 with no engine modifications that this bike can be able to outrun a ZX14 .. is really unbelievable to see a bike perform like ropeman007 with stock engine and with that much horsepower. We believe you guys are incredible guys and enjoy your motorcycles as much as we do. We appreciate the patience for the moderators on these boards to allow us to express our opinions and outlook.. maybe you guys will get a chance to make it to West Palm Beach for a seriously good time after your beating j/k ..
Look forward to chating with you guys more and learning techniques. We all know we are not perfect.. you guys stay safe on the roads. I need to go so i cat eat my chili!

Look dude here is the deal any bet you make with me on that 05 ZX10 YOU WILL LOSE bottom line that is the only bike I have ever done any top speed racing on and I AT 290 pounds carried that 05 ZX10 to 196 MPH certified my normal jockey who is around 160 suited went 204 on nitrous in a STANDING start 1 mile. Aint just for clarification your R1 aint stock either!! the only mod you have that is giving you any significant boost in power is that ignition module on a moder4n litre bike the timing is so retarded from the factory to help it pass emissions inspections that you maybe picked up 7-8 horsepower from the ignition module but not takingf anything away from your bike but if that bike is gettin 175 HP at the wheel!! then that is a HAPPY DYNO!!! and anyone here that is worth there weight in turds will tell you a dyno is just a tool for tuning and comparison ONLY!! the dyno operator can make that number read whatever they want by playing with correction factors and other things and keep in mind YOU DONT RACE ON A DYNO!!!! and just so you know a properly tuned piped and pc'ed ZX14 with a speedohealer will walk all over that R1 I promise you that!! in any kind of straight line race you want to try!! But I appreciate the fact that the two of you have calmed down and quit calling folks out SO WITH THAT SAID welcome to the ZX14 family and we are glad to help with any info you may need

The simple answer is I bought my 12 in 2005, before the 14 came out. Besides, I'm partial to the 12. To each their own.
I think the point here is that in the real world any stock-ish liter and any stock-ish hyper bike will be very competitive....but the 14 would always get the nod at the 9/10...he should know that. It isn't a gixxer 1k or zx10....those R1s fall on their face up top.

Got an air shifter to match your quick shifter. We're both on a stock arm, as stated I'm hand clutching, putting out the same RWHP on motor as you are. A 40 shot on both of our bikes would be 215 hp.

Well Magic i will say if your ZX10 is doing 196 in a mile and 204 on spray with a motor with head work , right now u would beat me . I take it that is flat out in 6 gear. U seam like a smart person so with that in mind do the math , I doo have a speed limiter problem from the ECU ,but u tell me im doind 185 in 5 gear in the 9/10 with a bone stock motor no NOS and still have a 40 shot 2 use ,and ur doing 196 in a mile in 6 gear with motor work, I way in at 180 pounds ,your rider 160, If u ask me that sucks ,when i get this speed limiter problem solved ,we can do something.

Someone with an R1 saying they can match a 204mph run! That R1 would be in magazines. Journalists would want to do an article on that R1 for sure. I highly doubt that R1 will push the envelope like that.

What, exactly, kind of race is this? A race is a test of skills - not a test of bikes.
It takes basically NO SKILL to race from a roll to the speed limiter. It takes MASSIVE skill and practice to go from a dead stop to whatever you get to in a qtr mile - or longer. So one is simply 2 bikes being tested and the other is a race.
A "stock motor"......some funny shit. Mods are mods........
My 14 (w/o boost) and minor mods pulls harder in 2nd(dyno tested) than a built litre bike in first..............nothing like my R1 at all. It would be ZERO challenge from a roll..........
I still got the $500 here :-)
I'll race him with my "stock motor" and 8psi of boost :-)

Ninja14...I though the same thing....but go to the 9/10 and try it, thats all I can say. Granted I think running at the strip takes more INITIAL skill but there are skills you learn deep in 5th and 6th that just don't really come into play at the strip.

I have been reading this thread all day, I feel ropeman's boy was or is trying to set up some races for him. I have an idea why don't you guys ( smokin, BlackMagic14 or who ever against ropeman) do a best 2 out of 3 races. Do ropemans ridiculous 9/10 race, do a true 1/4 race at a track, and pick a 3rd form of a race, also have a credible shop hold on to the money.
