Did you guys see the A/F ratio ? It looked real lean at about 4,000 RPM and went real rich as the RPMs increased...
There's got to be some explanation for that lean spot in the low rpms...

It was lean at low RPM and there was no power dip because I imagin the first thing Rickey did was pull the flies LOL

Got one on order now -- just trying to decide between silver or blue, as the red one is really :GAY. So I'm wondering if we can just leave the flies in, or, do they not open fully at low RPM? Guess I'll wait to see what Brock or Ricky says about that. I'm going to move the pipe, PC3 and the HID's from my 06 to the 08, then do the 16/43's and install Dubious's brackets and the ZX10R front fender.

fba, I posted this question to Rickey a little while ago over on Psychobike..................and get the blue..........cause I'm gettin' the silver............
"Rickey...........everyone keeps talking about a pipe and pulling the flies on the 08, but it looks like the dip in hp and tq the 06/07 had is completly gone in your charts of the 08. Are the secondary plates still there or can you see them opening much earlier and faster????????

Hey guys,
anyone have a dyno chart for a stock 06 or 07 handy for comparison? One from Ricky would be best.
Sands, that lean spot is probably right where the engine is in top gear at 55mph. That would help it get by the emmisions testing. Just my guess.

Thanks for the chart Warbird,
interesting info. Ricky's chart for the 08 doesn't really start showing numbers until almost 4000rpm. The chart Warbird put up shows that the "flat" spot is around 3000rpm on the 06, 07. The 08 is definitely showing much stronger numbers at 4000 on the chart but what does it do at 3000? If it is stronger throughout then the dip may still be there just at a higher average torque.
Will let you all know what my "seat of the pants" feel is when my 08 gets here next week.

I am considering get an 08 if my dealer and I can meet at a price point on trade in. I plan on keeping all my blue 06 bodywork though. Just gonna swap bodywork and my accessories I have and put on the 08. So I will have a candy thunder blue 08 that looks like an 06. And the dealer will have a 06 with 08 silver body work on it..

2008-5runs-173.1 hp
2006-no air filter-169.6 hp-105.3 tq
2008-no air filter-179.2 hp-111.2 tq
The comparison shows the 08 smashing the 06 down low in tq and hp...................like removing the flies on the 06/07..................

I wonder if the '08 CPU is compatable with the '06 & '07 bikes. I wonder how much of the low end gain is the new head and injectors versus revised mapping & timing tweaks from the CPU?
I know CPU's are big bucks, but might be a good upgrade for the older bikes.
Since Rickey has both bikes in his shop, how about trying the '08 CPU on the '06 and see what happens.
Please!!!!....................
