vortex rearsets installed
I got my vortex rearsets installed wallago, but it's raining so I can't see how they feel on the road. I did have a couple missing parts, but I can get them at the hardware store. It didn't come with the locking nuts for the shift rod. I had one laying around that worked on the right hand threaded side. I'll make a trip to get the other one before work today. I put the pegs all the way up and back. Feels good sitting on it. I love the adjustability I have with the shifter now Well, just thought I'd share!

That is what I found, great adjustability allowing clearance for the boot.
I modified the shifter rod, and machined down the tip of the shifter and drilled a hole to mount my airshifter.... works great!

ok dubious and blackbullet, I can't stand it and may have to order a set for my 14. I never thought I'd use them on anything except road race track bikes, but as I said i just can't stand it

I remeber when our 14's first came out and people were putting "buell" foot pegs on to get an extra inch of adjustment or some such mod.

Max adjustment forward and down is about 1/2 " forward, and about 1-1.5 inch down

I put a nylon nut on the left hand threaded end on the shift rod. I hope it holds until I get a metal one. Nobody carries one. The nut on the other end should hold it in place. Anyways, here's the pics I promised.

wow be still my heart, that black even looks better than the silver factory stuff. are you happy with the flexibility regarding how much you can adjust?
I don't even need to ask if you're happy about the GRIP on the VORTEX foot pegs hehehehe

Yeah, I love the adjustability because I had to move them around a little wallago. With the kickstand up, it got in the way of my foot getting under the shifter. But once I got that straightened out, I love them! Shifter throw is shorter now, which is what I like best. It'll take me a while to get used to how sticky the pegs are, but I'm glad I bought them.

As far as rating them, all I can say is I like the shorter throw for shifting because I'm always missing 2nd at the track. This should help. I paid $320 shipped off ebay, they were brand new in the box.

Exhaust looks real close. Is that just the angle or not an issue?

Yes. Not only do they grip better, they are adjustable up and down front to back.

They are nice. Gotta get the rear brake adapter though for my brake light to work. Vortex rear-set doesn't have a place for this fitting. Getting close to getting everything painted with cruise and PCIII installed. Oh yea, learned last night the cubby hole where my cruise servo is going right behind the battery is normally where the ABS servo goes. Nice little space in there. Good for smuggling that is.
