Track Test U4 Vs U4.2

I know some of you have asked this question about U4 Vs U4.2 in our zx14s ....I have no clue how it works in other bikes but in the zx14 with Brocks track map and a Smeg it works great ....Testing U4 netted an Avg of 5.74 @ 125 and the U4.2 run a Avg of 5.72 @ 125 ......

Some have stated it will need remapping to get the same power but i found no Difference in power with the same map ...If you are running a Brocks track map just pour it in and go racing ... NOTE : Some gains may be possible with custom mapping.. Smokin.....

I wasn't trying to go faster with the switch in fuels ..But i didn't want to go slower with the switch of fuels .. The reason for the switch was not to have to drain the fuel after every race ....Smokin..

I dont mean to Jack your post Smokin, but yesterday I ran 5.96 @ 124 in the 1/8 and 9.21 @ 154 in the 1/4 with mr9 without a power commander, stock airfilters, and an Akrapovic with ol' reliable @ 61inch wheelbase...

I tested U4 vs. U2 this weekend. There was no difference. U2 is around 100 octane, I can run just as good on motor, then just change the map and spray with it. U2 is also $10 cheaper.

+1 I too use U2, ran it all weekend without a problem at the mile.

Now if they would only make a U2.2 so I could leave it in the tank life would be good

Q16 looks like a great fuel for everday racer with massive amounts of compression, no wonder why you are curious

Karl with your motor, I would use mrxo1 on just motor...motor and nitrous then i would use c16...Seems to me that with the q16, there would be too much oxygen???

mrx01 and U2 both seem to work with this motor but q16's higher octane is attractive. Just wondering if anyone has actually tried a pail????

I'm resurrecting this thread because that is flat out hauling on a 61" 12R with no PC3!!!!

And I know Rick was footshifting too....

Great power out of 1200cc....and great riding.

So which is going to be cheapest and best?

u4
u4.2
mr9
u2

I will not be spraying, but I'm going to the track on sunday (opening day for the race season). I don't care if the fuel isn't supposed to be left in the tank or not because I ride my bike quite a bit, and it wouldn't even last 2 days.

Thanks

if you're not spraying and don't have a map for it, will it really be necessary to run race gas? seems to me that you should be able to reach your goals with pump gas. take the money that you were going to spend on race gas and put it towards a strap and lowering bones. you'll be much more happy with the results.

The fuel we are talking about is oxygenated...it will make more power than regular fuel, if mapped properly.

It adds oxygen, requiring more fuel, which then leads to more power. Not so different from nitrous...it's just a matter of how much and through what means you are adding to oxygen. You'll notice that even in Brock's case, the MR9 brings hp, and mph.

In my case, I am going to try some oxygenated fuel. I already have all of the other mods.

I have bones, straps, pipe, filter, pciii, 16t, and flies pulled. I think fuel will be the next thing to try.
