Bought Today
Could not wait any longer. Was trying to hold out for 2008. The dealer had a used 2006 so I set up a test ride. Rode to the shop for a fair comparison to my Z-1000. After riding the 14 there was no comparison. Z - 1000 whats that. I Paid for a new 2007 in Black today. I pick it up Monday. I might need sleigh dogs to pull it soon (Canadian Guy!!). I can't wait. First thing FRAME SLIDERS, next Corbin bags (for my practical side), then.........

congradulations, 07 black is the best color and it is not because i have one. 
then..... pull the flies out, and maybe brocks smeg and p/c and..............

hell with frame sliders just get on that thing and ride, congrats on the great new addition, i just love my 14, makes me smile just lookin at it, the riding part is even better

The dealer was closed otherwise I would have been on it already. I prob wont be ready till the end of day tomorow, I can wait. It is prob for the best, if it was ready sooner I would be tempted to ditch work. A sudden migrane is entirely possible.
Does anyone know where I can get a leather tank protector??

Went to pick up the bike today. Has a pretty deep scratch (New, but it was on the showroom floor) on the top of the tank. Prob from someones belt buckle. The dealer is sending it out for repair. Has offered by money back if it doesnt come out. Now I am wondering if I should still wait for the 2008.??? (they did take my 2007 Z1000, so that deal would be off and I would have to try and sell it again)

don't have them repair it.. have them replace the tank. i wonder if they come painted already from factory. you are buying a new bike. . or have them give you another bike.
or have them take off 1000.00 more for scratch

New tank or better price. You could get it repaired yourself and make money doing it.

I have to throw in with the others on that one. Either a "major" price reduction, or if it was me, a brand new part. New is new and anything else is b.s. Once your riding it will be all good, but hold out for whatever makes you ok when you roll out. Black is badass by the way...Congrats!

+1 on that all the way! It's got to be at your dealer soon. Unless you got an absolute screaming deal on it I would wait for the '08. I bought mine before I knew there was going to be updates on the '08 or else I would have waited too. Though I got mine new for $10,500. And get that tank replaced! not even a repaint, you know they will cheap skate it and even if it might look matching NOW it wont in a year or so. I've made that mistake before. good luck!

I was the same way. Couldn't wait any longer and got the fastest color (RED)
but the black is nice too.

Well.... the detail guy is a miracle worker. It is about 99%. . If I look hard I can see some fine marking from the ultra fine paper used. It still has plenty of clear coat. Basically if you did not know where the mark was you could't tell. We sorted out the difference with application of a tank protector product similar to 3M. It is called venture tape. They have done pretty well on the price and they are the only local dealer that will take my Z1000 in as trade. I really did not want to go through the hassles of selling. My Z1000 was only 4 months old and the agreement w the wife was sell the Z1000 before purchase of the ZX-14. I also made some calls about cost for the new 2008 (Canadian) There are no deals now and I would be at the mercy of new model year prices. Plus I want the Corbin bags (I know...their service sucks sh.t but they look so good , if you need permanant locakable storage). I think the black will blend the bags. My goal was to get on the 14 as soon as possible. This gives me what I want now. Typically I am not the most patient, besides I will need an excuse when they make a maojor revision in a few years. If all goes according to plan I will be on my new ZX-14 tomorow.

From new guy to another, congrats! Get out and ride before it gets too cold, I got 3800 mi in four months. Liked my Busas, but I love this bike.
