I've been riding the Gap for 12 years and never seen a bear. Wish I could have but kinda glad I haven't.

Been there twice this year so won't go back till next spring. Late April is absolutely great there. No traffic.

Cops are wild...
They were on a rampage.
I would suggest a video camera and a gps to prove your speed.
Video camera mounted so u can see the gps. (play it back for the morons.)
Make sure your visor is down or you are wearing shatter proof glasses that you can prove they are just that. (ticket)
Do not cross the fucn line either. (ticket)

Thanks, I keep my foolishness on the race track, this is just a ride to watch the leaves change and hang out with friends . Slow in the straights fast in the turns and no worries

but why would i ride the bike up? straight lines for long periods are boring as all hell, and I really need luggage (visiting people/going out with folks here). I'll leave here Sun., by the time I see everyone around GA NC and SC it'll be a whole lot more than 500 miles. actually one way here was around 600
I'm posting from Gatlinburg, got in at 3 AM, rode in the mountains all day, all is very well. Folks will be coming in to meet up and ride tomorrow

man I been sliding in leaves for two days now! actaully in the morning they're bad but once the cagers take care of it the pace goes up... you know the deal .....
the place is making me miss living up here big time. leaves are changing colors, the turns are sharp, temp is a perfect 67 and thin mtn air... and I don't miss palm trees :P
folks I'm meeting been rolling in today/this evening. we're going to dinner in a while. tomorrow is deal's gap/cherhobby parkway (ya I can't spell it), etc
hey but a guy is riding his stroked ZX10 all the way here from LONG ISLAND NY. Yesterday he told me it'd take him 13 hours in the seat. I spoke with him a while ago and he's been at it 16 hours so far, I expect him here soon. now where are all those harley fackers that are always telling me sportbikes won't make long trips....

leaves were not a problem nor were the COPS...we hardly saw any. Of course I'll get some pics up from the trip and write a little about it. I'm exhaust. Did the dragon for the 3rd day along with the surrounding twisties locals and GUNNER informed me of, drove to Hickory NC tonight too see some folks and terrorize the twisties around here, Wilkesboro, north into allegheny/surry counties (I'll try not to hit mountain folk nor inbreds)
PICS of the 14 in turns hanging leaned with the 600's and litre bikes to follow. Although personally I could've had much more corner speed with an R1 or ZX10 but I was able to hang well everyone was amazed after they talked smack about the big bike.
Thank God no leaves, cops, nor animals slowed us down the the trip was a BLAST and the leaves turning in the moutains was awesome.
