Deal's Gap?
Anyone going to be in the Deal's Gap area weekend of Nov. 2nd? I'm putting fresh pilot powers on the 14 and meeting folks there to slay the dragon

Good luck.....In case you have not heard the popo is pretty thick there now days. You will have more fun on the Cherahala with your 14 (popo thick there too). Take it to HWY 68 and head south to GA 60 and T.W.O., mucho more fun and not as thick with cops. Let us know how it works out for ya.

Was there early this year and was very good riding, if I was closer I would come ride with ya for sure love that area!

A really good alternate run is from exit 24 on IS 40 just east of Asheville. Its 209 and runs 35 miles north to Hot Springs. Has everything the Gap has and more, plus less traffic and no Popo. Check out Killboys web site if you want the low down on the strongarm tactics they are using at the gap.

I am supposed to go next week but its not looking good. If i dont i might plan on being there then. Maybe i will see you there. I am will be with about 3 zx10's and a couple gsxr's but hopefully not in the back of the pack!!!! lol.

i live 20 miles from the Gap and if you guys don't make it this year you are not missing anything at all ! This year the Gap has sucked unless you ride it at around 7:00 pm or later. We usually ride it a couple times a week but I have only been maybe 5 times all summer due to the popo.

I'll be riding Daytona Speedway the 18th Oct. getting that out of my system with my track bike, the Gap is just a fun ride with a group of friends. Used to live up that way and certainly will be doing backroads for any blistering runs.
Would be nice to maybe shake hands with you if you're going to be around.

Yeah it would be nice to meet some of the guys that give all this good advice but i only wish i still had my 636 so i could ride the turns harder but oh well.

I was thinking about putting the street plastics on my 600RR and bringing it, but I'm taking the hogly ZX14 so come join us with our slower corner speeds anyway !

I was there a month ago and the Police are bad during the day, but they all leave in the evening it seems. Ride from NC to TN to check it out then turn around and have some fun! Check out Cherehola Skyway and surrounding roads , They are GREAT ! Going back next year for sure. Rons cabins are nice and heap too.

Thanks for the tips. I do my crazy stuff on the race track, I'm going to avoid tickets anyway possible. I don't think a knee-puck on the road now and then will be a problem. We have a good group going, and so far I suspect no squids among the group.

the speed limit is 30 mph so as long as you go 29.999999 mph u will be ok. ***BUT***, if you go 30.0000001 you are getting a ticket. Make sure you have your legal paperwork (insurance card, ect) and you will be ok.

Ya thanks, as i said I keep my crazy stuff on the race track. We'll have slow women on cruiser bikes with us too (not that all women are slow)

One day it was raining on most of the "Dragon" all exept Crud Corner and south. My friends and I were going through then kept turining around with our wives getting pics as we rode past. I was in the front and as soon as I past the girls a black bear (small) ran in front of me ! It was 50 feet in front of me so no danger , but I was looking for Mama to cross next. It was cool.
So watch out for wildlife too.
