Can't wait to see the results. I'm still confused, though. If the Suzuki makes 198 without ramair and the 14 makes 190 without, why are they only 1 hp apart?

Regardless of the minor differences in weight and power, the new Busa will be stomping 14's in every venue soon enough. The aftermarket will insure that.

what exactly is a busa.i hear all these stories.but have only seen three of them.two on the street and one at the dealer.lots of them in magazines that look like steam rollers.must take most of there hp. to haul that dumb looking 360 down the strip.stay faithful to your kaw's they will reign as king in the long run.no meaner looking bike around. we kaw owners be bad to the bone. ps.kind of like yammers to. ole snarly

Brock also went 9.98 on the new busa stock whereas gadson did 10.3 the same bike, even though Brock weighs more

I bet we won't see any real stock to stock comparisons, since it seems that the busa needs some clutch changes to launch into 14 territory. We'll see what the magazines do like Motorcyclist, Cycle World, etc.

Same day same dyno within 1 HP of each other all the way across the board the good news is the weight on the fourteen is stated a LITTLE BIT high it is about 8 pounds lighter then the busa, SO i think the true test will be which bike responds better to SLIGHT modification i.e. pipe and pc
Cool keep us updated Smokin...

I always read that the 198 was with Ram air. Is this a fact? or have I been misreading?
I've always read it to be 198 with Ram air also. I thought I just recently saw 194, though. Hmm... Where was that at? :-?

A showroom bike, a spanking new hayabusa WITH 0 MILES !!! has just been dynoed 175 hP so it seems that suzuki at least has not been tweaking the press bike but maybe kawasaki will.
after some 200 miles it will be closer to 180 hp

Gstring tell me why a 08 Busa would make 180 HP with 200 miles...When Brocks 08 busa made 177.50 with 475 miles ?? Is this a magic 180 hp 08 busa ?? Son you need to work on your math skills ....lol

No i don't think it's a ringer ...But it was broken in because it showed 474 miles on the speedo when Brock put it on the Dyno...Looks to me that Brock got one of the Press bikes and not a dealer bike .. Fish said the same thing happened at the press show for the 06 zx14 ... all the bike were broken in before they got to ride them...Does that make them ringers? I don't think so ...My zx14 has run the same numbers and faster as Press bikes did at Vegas..Smokin..

Let's face it, all the bikes in the factory are run up on a dyno if only for a moment, and most assuredly any that stand out a little are yoinked for a press fleet. That magic little %1 better random bike can be felt when they are pushed to the limits by expert riders. Of course *how* they are broken in is %99 of the rest of this story, but...
Awesome that the '08 models look to be so even - it will be a while before real world dyno numbers trickle down though. It would make perfect sense that a little more aggressive flies map would account for most of momma Kawi's doublespeak in the press release.

different day different dyno can account for 2-3 hp easily so expect to see that magic number many times in the future. the same with the zx14 ( which on some dynos can pull 170 hp), anyway your missing my point that they did not tweak the Brocks biketo make it more powerful!

The best way to see which bike will king is to run both same day stock out the box nothing lowerd.
just like they did when dennis green ran 03 12 and 03 busa.same day no clutch mod.he got 9.88 on the busa and 9.95 on the 12.They did mod both bikes with lowering and sprocket mod to both.Than the busa got 9.4 to 9.5.This is still with stock slipper clutch. As dennis green did not need clutch replaced.I still wonder what brock would have run if left stock clutch in while bike was lowerd.I still have stock clutch in mine with 300hp to rear wheel.

Cool that bike at stock wheel base is not going to run 8s without a pipe and p/c ...9.30s @ 150 is a long long way from 8s ... With a pipe and a good tune by Brock with RG or Ryan riding it will go 8s .....

It may need longer arm but thats it.There was a stock motor 2004 busa with 174hp to rear wheel that ran 8.9 at 151.It did have arm and pipe with pc.but it was 174hp.with more torque from the new busa and power it is possible.I think an arm will be needed thats it.The problem is everyone jumps out to buy pipe and pc with out truley seeing how fast they can go stock.

With an ARM maybe 8s .With out a pipe and P/C it's going to be close.. A pro like Ryan , Ricky or Shine may get it done But an Avg joe might not .. We will have to wait and see as the new owners take to the track ....I have been 8.77 on my stock motored zx14 so zx14s have allready broken that ground ..

I'v been hearing that the Busa guys are not too happy with the clutch on the new Busa...They didnt change the clutch...You still need the clutch mod for it...What good is that???

Rick it makes no difference to the Busa guys ...Even if they have to have a clutch mod $$$$ and a upper tripple tree$$$$$ to drop the front end and still need steel braided brake lines $$$$ to stop the bike it's still a better bike , cheaper bike and faster than the zx14 ...I guess all the engine vibs from 4000 to 7000 makes them forget that..
