my speedo read 180mph but i believe my speedo is off by about 5mph so i think i was going about 175mph,but still fun as hell i would have gone faster but i was running out of road.

ZX14 speedo's off by 8.5%...which is NOT 5 mph at 180 -- more like -14 mph dude. Yer 180 was 164...still fast though!

On my ZRX I have seen 165 indicated, so just under 150 I suppose... It was not easy hanging on in the wind, with risers on a naked standard it can get scary.

I couldn't hit redline in 5th, even with 2 teeth up on the back. Aerodynamics? LOL

On a secluded, empty private road up here, I had bounced the speed limiter almost daily.
Now with the speedo healer at -18%, 17-44 gears hits the REV limiter at 188 MPH.
I have done that almost daily as well. This bike is the most stable, confidence inspiring bike I have ever ridden, especially for one without any damper!..
A Fantastic marvel of engineering really!

Dubious you better be careful man, that aint a speed to take lightly. One animal, even a bird could kill you. Moderation is all. and I would guess that 'private road' has trees lining it?? any deer in there? Just keep the tires right side up is all.

Thanks for the interest bro!
Its a wide road, 2 miles straight, 80ft wide from shoulder to tree line... I hear ya though!
There is a time an place for everything....

LOL , there is a wide sweeper , long bend at the end, I had her leaned over and howlin around the corner yesterday at about 155 mph! Load the inside rear peg, and hang off the side...!
Damn it still handles good with that arm on there... no chasis flex at all, justa nice tight STABLE groove!

Funny ya bring up animals!
This summer, on west side road of Okanogan lake, I came a round a corner and i saw 2 big pointy ears stick up in the ditch! Whoa nelly! slammed the brakes, pulled in the clutch and blasted the throttle... used the super sonic loud SMEG to wake up yoggi !
That black bear turned 180 degree's and ran into the bush like its ass was on fire!
LMFAO those suckers are fast... lightning fast man, he spun around and headed for the bush in a blink of an eye!
I have seen alot of bears in my days... dirt biking! I have seen them run, and climb tree's ... crazy too ...climb a tree at like 20 mph vertical velocity!, Bark was flying everywhere
but i never saw one make a direction change like that before in my life! LOL

The SMEG has an uncanny way of warning wildlife when its singin at ELEVEN THOU!
LOL

Your right though, animals !
beware!
