N00b moment....

Dangit....that's what I get for being nice.

I was going to another building at work to check up on the people there to make sure all is working. So then right there in front of the building, which happens to be all dirt, I am going maybe 5 mph and getting ready to turn and park and my front tire hit a patch of soft sinking sand....put my foot down to catch, but my foot slipped....BAM....Brand new bike on the ground. Bike was still on and I manually switched it off (that tip over switch works really well eh?).

It's not too bad...mostly scratches and a broken mirror is the worst. Oh well.....such is the nature of the beast. Pics when I get home and clean all the dust off of it.

At least you are OK. Bikes are disposable/repairable/replaceable.

Time to have it custom painted it green!?

I like my blue...and all my blue gear......It's not bad...but a part of the plastic is broken...so if it costs more than 500 for me to fix it...I will claim it on insurance...that's what it's for eh?

the increase in your premiums (and ours) will cost more than that.
I never claim unless the damage is more than $2000, and run $1000 deductable to keep my premiums down.

Sorry to hear of yur misfortune....

I expect sand and gravel where I live... the entire town is either tore up, or being built it seems...

I don't have pics (didn't have time or daylight) but I need:

RH mirror
RH front center fairing
RH front lower fairing

And if I wanna go broke a new front upper...but it only has a few scratches.

The exhaust has a few scratches, but I could probably polish those out.

So the tally so far is 1200 bucks to fix it looking nearly brand new again....guess I won't report it to insurance unless I can't buff out and repaint the front upper...

The pieces on ebay havent been in great shape here recently.

And Butter, i dont think you will have to worry about the piece being OEM or aftermarket. If it is your color, whether 06 or 07 blue, you should be good to go on them. So no need in worrying about that.

Been there, done that...it just goes to show IT can happen to anyone. I hate sand more than gravel. Happened to me like that hte other day, in a construction zone here in So TX. Some MORON cuts me off in the zone, mind you I am only going 10-15, and its either smack him or brake hard!!!! Well I come to a stop right in apatch of friggin sand and wash the front tire...plop bang, luckily, the frame sliders did there job and no real damage, but F*&^%*!
Made me furious, and of course the cager is on his way, didnt even look back and was probably on the F...ing!!!! cell phone!!

Praise that you are okay and your bike is relatively unharmed.
