Testing 2008 Busa- Brocks Performance
Guys,
I am at the 2008 Hayabusa World Press Introduction and it's not possible to ride the new Busa without comparing it to the ZX-14.
I have daily updates on my site:

You need to slap those people at Cycle World and get them to update their report. J/K LOL! 
They reported "CW Road Test Editor Don Canet" ... ran a 10.046 ET, with a trap speed of 143.8 mph" and that "Aaron Yates was able to muster a 10.08 pass" and that "Don was the fastest at the event when I spoke to him on the phone a few minutes ago."
Congrats on the 9.98. However, that's more than a little short of the predictions on the Busa board ranging from 9.0 to 9.5 stock.

Is this a test being compared to the '08 ZX-14 Brock? Please keep us posted man as I am getting ready to prepare my '06 for trade-in for a new '08 14.

Cool Brock ... Keep us posted ......The bikes look close stock and it will be cool to see what it does with your mods ...
What about the NEW 08 zx14 >??? any word yet ???

Lucky you got that right !!! The Busa guys had the new Busa killing the zx14 by a mile ....lol......To a Busa die hard old Busa was a match for the zx14 ....lol...lol...lol...lol...They just left out the part about them installing 1397 kit to do it ..

sounds like a lotta crank around here. Im not putting the cover over my zx 1400 yet. sounds like they got a slippery clutch problem and two many buttons to push

It's amusing to see your discussions with the Busa faithful on the MANY other boards I see you on. Diff username but the same Smokin. LOL!! Mostly I lurk........
You're right - most of them are convinced that the old Busa is as fast or faster than the "old" 14. .......... and they base that on WHAT???
I'm waiting for Monday (Dealer Show) to find out if there's an 08 14 in my future.

lucky 14....they are running it like the dog races. with a picture of a zx 1400 out in front and the busas chasing it around the track.

187@ crank + 10 for ram air, whereas the Suk claims 194 + ram air.

The Busas ram air is crap due to the design of the fairing.
There is nothing til above 120 then it slowly rises to c.4hp.
The new one has the same front end and air box so shouldn't be any different.

dont know if ram air is crap on this one have not done top speed test yet.but one of the riders on the track did see 185plus on the back straight which tells me this thing must fly on top.this is new motor im sure needs more break in time than we will see what this thing can do.

He saw 185 on his SPEEDO ... We all know that the factory speedo reading is way off..

We all knew this was going to happen, or at least we should have. The more power you add the more finese it will take to harness it. You can't shove 20 more hp in an engine and just say go faster. That extra hp will only make it harder to launch and extra hp will only be made up down the track, but you will still lose a few tenths or hundredths on your 60ft times.

Time will tell fellows, I personally think the 08 busa will out perform the current 14, but the 08 14 maybe not.

a few horse power here or there is not going to make a differance.....99.9% of the people that is going to buy a either a 14 or a busa will not notice a differance between the the two. Guys get hung up on the numbers too much...

Since the '08 14 is yet to be released, if you actually check Brock's tests you'll note that the test is against a "legacy" 'busa

Fish he was asking IF this upcoming testing would be 08 Vs08 ..He knows the test posted is 08 vs the old busa... Hell we all know that ......
