thanks rickey gadson!
seen superbikes last night and picked up a few pointers. i put my feet up to fast, looks like i should try to stay up front, at least till i shift to second and get her leveled out, that way i can concentrate more on my 60's. man i should try his school sometime.

Yep they all do that. feet out behind and nearly parallel to the body until past 1/8mile at least. Must be a leverage/center of balance thing. Not to mention like you said, a possible distraction when your attention is needed the most. You better have one helluva seat to hold you properly, though! I've nearly superman'd before on my 14, its not a very comfortable feeling sliding back on the seat as the front rises fast under full accel.

i have reshaped my seat and also have a loop that i made. i wanted my seat height to remain the same, so my legs are not cramped when cruising

sounds like I should probably get a custom seat too lol. Don't want to be the last guy on Bikeland to not have one... And I agree about the seat height. Seems perfect to me. Screw the short people! Thats why they make SV 650's!

brocks gen3, track map,65",16/43, pingle shifter,87 pump gas, my 60's are usually around 1.50-1.55. that 9.23 was a 1.45. 9.27 was a 1.48. that tells me if i could get some 1.40s, !!

True that. My favorite story this year is of a female instructor at Pacific Raceways performance riding school showing up a guy who thought having a Ducati 999R was all it took to be a track star. He refused to take the lines she was telling him too, so as he entered a sweeper she passes him, full lean, and POINTS to the line he should have taken! And in order to do it, she had to take a really bad line that had her tires sliding at the end. With one hand on the bars. Awesome! Needless to say he listened to her after that lol. But as far as drag racing, no way.! Monster power, long wheel bases, even the extra weight of a big bike is where its at for 60' times. Hell, 1/8 mile times. I'm still a rookie there, know and done enough to talk the talk, just walking it is another story... Every racing series is different, to each his own.
And Smokin, NICE SHOT!!! Though with my big ass 300+ pounds 6'5" frame the 14 looks WAY smaller under me lol. Love them perfect power wheelies!

Smokin I will talk to Rickey for you, What is a local track I could contact about renting the track and about how many people do you think would sign up it would need to be at least 13 to justify that long of a trip, and Blue Maxx this class is set up so you get a lot of one on one time with Rickey so asking a lot of questions would not be a problem... and if you guys notice Jason Britton picked up almost 2 tenths of a second JUST off his 60 time that is like four tenths of E.T. so almost half a second shaved off E.T for the 600 dollar cost of the class that is the Cheapest half a second I have ever seen... The classes are normally at ATCO raceway in New Jersey (rickeys home track) the one I am organizing is going to be at Red River Raceway in SHreveport Louisianna I think we may have a couple of speaces left so if anyone is interested let me know

http://www.bradentonmotorsports.com/ ask for Allen .....We can get 13 people for sure , mostlikey more ..... I can think of 7 right here on Bikeland...Myself , burnout , tonytooth, steve, Big turd , jessejames,steadyteddy.... We would bring your own bikes ...If we did it in mid winter with all the other tracks closed i'm sure we could get many more..It would be a great trip for Ricky to come where it's warm .Smokin..

My feet hit the pegs almost immediatly as I come off the line and I'm getting 1.49 - 1.51 60' times with stock wheelbase. I'm leaned over a far as I can but my feet are on the pegs. I have a hard time believing that you can control the bike better with your feet hanging off the sides but I guess everybody has a different riding style. Feet on the pegs also keeps me from sliding back and I'm already in position to kick into second gear. It works for me to the tune of 9.10's at 151 , that's footshifting with your basic Brock's setup. Going 8's stock wheelbase when the weather gets cooler.

Yep.............those guys are shifting with a button. No way you could get your foot back to the peg in time to snick into second from that far back. ( At least I would think it would be VERY hard to do..........second comes mighty fast )

Smokin I will contact Rickey Monday and let him know that there is some interest, and yes any of the Classes that are away from ATCO will be BYOB (bring your own bike) Rickey will more then likely have to fly in, what is the closet airport to brandenton? and just to let everyone know I checked today and we do still have some open spots for the Shrevport LA. class you guys can call me with any questions (870)692-9543 name is Matt FYI the class is 595 ALL DAY closed track just Rickey and the people in the class all the one on one time with Rickey you can handle. Most of the people that I have talked to that are beginners are shaving at least 5 tenths off their E.T. and the more experienced guys are averaging around 2-3 tenths so it is well worth the money, I think Smokin will agree you beginners will not find another MOD that will shave half a second for 600 bucks not to mention spending the day with a legend, Rickey will aslo go over things such as properly setting up the suspension and technical things like that.
Oh Smokin if you have time over the next couple of days if you could talk to a few people and get me as many "loose" commitments as you can that way I can tell Rickey there definately is enough interest
