I have also heard of the chain jumping on the Sun Stars. I ordered one and then started hearing all this, and with the Vortex on back order, i ordered a JT. So we will see i guess.

I don't work for vortex or anything, but we run those on the road race tracks and they are the bomb

i spend the extra few bux and not worry about sprockets

I have sunstars front and back, launching at 5500 to 6500 at the track never had a problem.
I can not see how a chain could skip unless you have it to loose or not aligned front to rear properly.

I was gonna get a sunstar rear sprocket for my 14, butI was told that Renthal made the best, so that's what's on the back right now. It's aluminum.

SunStar front and Vortex rear for me, never had a problem with the SunStar yet with about 500 passes. Just keep the chain tension where it needs to be.

I'm the same.....i haven't had any problems with my sunstar yet. The chain does ride higher on the sprocket than the vortex and it's a tad louder. I had both...if i had to pick, vortex....if i had to settle, sunstar.

I had a sunstar 16 an it went back. It would skip in first, like it let the chain ride up and then jerk into place. I opted to put the stock back on and am now running a 45 rear vortex sprocket. I am extended though so it was easy for me to do this.
