am I stupid ??
ok .. i just got my rear tire back ..
I was thinking the arrows on the pilot power should point in the direction of rotation ..
my friend says .. hey .. it says REAR and point rearward ..
I'm thinking .. is this new ?? ever other tire I've seen says direction of rotation .. and points the other way .. towards the front ..
is putting on a tire do fucking hard that the tire dude didn't know this rule ??
on a PP .. does the arrows point to the front or rear of the bike ?
thanks .. but I have to ask now that it is mounted and home .. before I loose it on someone more stupid than me ..

The arrows go in the direction of rotation. If you put it on backwards and ride in the rain there is a better chance of hydroplaning because you will be funneling the water tot he center of the tire instead of away from the tire.

Yup. The arrows ALWAYS point to the rotation direction of the tire.

The arrow has to do the way the tire is manafactured. The tread overlaps in a scarf, and for the rear the tire is driven so the arrow indicates the direction the scarf is pressed togeather under power. Front the scarf is reversed so it is pressed closed under braking. Thatswhy if you put a rear on the front you need to put the arrow opposite of rotation. Yes in someapplications rears are mounted up front. If they are mounted opposite oftheri normal rotation the generated forces try and rip the scarf open.....TB

Word of advice...you have been warned by that mechanics ignorance. Don't ever take your bike there again!

+1
I'd be afraid he may scratch the rims and such. Wow, surely I wouldn't let him change the oil or adjust a chain!
