zx14 cyl head...

Does anyone know if the bore spacing and the head bolt and dowel pin locations are the same for the zx12 and 14?

yes i was wondering the same thing. Coby sending my head back. I was able to get another motor and some of his mechanics quit. He said he could fix the head. I ll send it to you. If its not worth fixing ill sale it to you. The head should be back with me soon. I might be able to measure the dowl pin location on the block. Pm me and let me know how you want it measured if that will help.

Come on all you zx14 guys..... Havent any of you taken the engine apart in that beast yet?

Not taking the engine out and apart on your brand new bike is like waiting a year after you get married to... well you get the idea.

Serius blk, let me know when you get it back.

Does anyone have a used head gasket they can send me. I need it to layout and machine a fixture plate for holding the head in the 5 axis porting machine to digitize and cut the ports.

I guess i could just buy a new head gasket.....

No, they're not the same. The 14 doesn't use that alum. tube for oiling between cyl. & head like the 12 did. Chuck

As for my bike I like to keep'em running and not mess with them too much until after its paid for. It hasn't given me any problems either. "If it aint broke dont fix it."

Good luck with the project.

Umm, I dont know about you, but if that was the case I would need to go to the factory, pick my motor and tear it completely apart a couple dozen times before I would even consider buying it. I would then change my mind and leave it for one of you guys to buy after I 'modified' it a bit. Then I would wander over to the Suzuki factory... Sooner or later they would catch up to me and make me buy one. Because they hate letting guys break in those 'engines' for free. But a year later??? You're right, thats insane! Good thing we're only talking about bikes, fellas.

Thanks, we have a zx-14 testing and development head on the way ..... Much thanks to Serius Blk. I'll be developing a few cnc ported versions of the zx14 head sometime in December for you guys.
The "Stage 1" Busa head program is almost finished. It should be ready for dyno/track testing in a few weeks. I'm working on cam profiles to match its flow performance now.
