New rider needs help
I am new to this forum and i ride a 14 in Sg. However, there are few 14s here, therefore, i cant get much help.. I am considering luggage for my bike while going on long trips, but I cant decide between the Saddle bags or Hepco Luggage Box.
I was told the Rear Huggers are flimsy and cant take the weight of the saddle bags, The Hepco comes with a rack and therefore will not cause any problems to the huggers.. Can someone advice me on this matter?
Another qn, A fellow 14 rider recommended a TRE to be equiped on the bike, says it maps 6th gear secondary valve timings to all gears, therefore the powerbends comes earlier than stock.. is this true? how will it affect the bike? (+ve/-ve)

Skip the TRE, pull the flies. Do a search on flies removal. You'll need a PC3 after that to remap the engine, but you'll need one with the TRE also. I don't know about other bags, but my Corbin bags are great, just VERY pricey.

Don't get me wrong....they are nice looking, but I am not so hardcore that I can justify them to myself...one day though.

nelson-rigg rear seat bag is the way to go. Someone posted a pic of it around here, gotta look for it. I bought mine for $60 or so and it's awesome. Holds a laptop, change of clothes and rain gear all at once. Best part is everyone comments on its looks, since when I'm on the bike it matches my profile, kinda like a rear cowl with a straight high edge where my back hits it, then tapers towards the rear. And it stays put at high speeds-170mph so far! It's a semi rigid back, you can set your helmet on it and it wont deflect. I hate having bags on a bike, especially a sport bike, but I don't mind this one at all, it's growing on me.
