I know the catalyst is a pretty good seat, but if you are wanting to get lower and have better support use your stock one.
You can cut up to about 4 inches of foam out of the stock seat, and if you do it right, it can be done in one cut so that when/if you get the catalyst you can glue the cut-out piece back in and could never tell.
I did this to mine, and it made a HUGE difference, even for my fatass.

Hmm, guess you've never seen my bike. My seat has already been customized. But when launching at the strip, i still slide back a couple 3 inches and screws my position up on the bike and more importantly my control over it . But seriously, thanks for your help bro! Just looks like the catalyst would hold you in place real good.

I cut all the foam up front out, then placed a 1/4" piece of foam in place, stapled back, its not as low as the cat seat, but it was free. wee

I cut my stock seat down too. I still wanted a little cushion for street riding so tried this way first.

Hey Pat juat thought I would chime in. If you want to order one in from Schnitz you are welcome to borrow mine until yours gets in. I race on Saturday's and your down there on Wednesdays. Mine just sits on the shelf during the week. The people at Catalyst are really nice but when I ordered my tailsection for my 10 it still took a while.

Thanks Earl. When I go next ,it'll probably be this next friday providing the weather is what they say it'll be. What time do you leave for the track? This would tell me when I'd have to have it to you on sat morning? Would love to try it before I bought one though. Has it scratched your bike or did you do some trimming?

Pat
Give me a call if you would like to take the seat with you to Muncie, I will not be able to go down this weekend, the wife is going to be out of town and I have the kids. I tried getting your number from a few guys but nobody seems to have it or is willing to give it to me. If you want, give me a call and we can go from there. I work most of second and all of third so if I don't call back right away you will know why. I did already trim the seat as well as apply a rubber window stripping around it so it doesn't scratch. Its a pretty cheap fix.
