153.47mph at 712 pounds

Thats the mph I ran friday night and weighed on the scales 712#s. 123.00 was the 1/8th mph on the particular run but went 123.9 on a previous but was against a strong headwind early on so only 150.6 on the back. But guess the new tuning got me my 30mph back half mph I was after. E.t wasn't there though, a whole bunch of 9.20s. The higher mph runs had 1.60 shorts. I just can't get the clutch figured out. Its way too soft compared to what i had in the busa and old habits are hard to break so guess it's time to dulpicate the busa clutch by adding some stiff springs and also stmachine adjustable levers to get the clutch to come in quicker off the bars. At least the mph is there, just got to launch it . But needeless to say (but i will anyway, lol) very impresssed with the way this bike runs. This particular track i was at is stingy with mph also. My busa went 158 there as a best at 210hp.

By the way Smokin'. Changed back to the stock front sprocket and no more problems.

People need to stay away from the Sunstar 16 tooth front sprocket. Thought i had tranny problems. Thing is JUNK!

153 that's good for an 8.80 pass when you get your 60s down to low 1.40s...A good Vortec 16 tooth will take care of that .....Schnitz has some HD springs for the clutch that should get you the feel you are looking for ...29.00 bucks ....I tried just 3 of the 5 springs and it was too much for me so i went back to stock springs ..I also tried Brocks spacers and proved to me too much also....I like the light feel it has stock Vs my old jumpy stiff Busa clutches...Everybody likes their clutch a little different, so whatever works for you is all that matters...

I got to ask ..How much you weigh?? My zx14 in the scales at BMP only weighed 505 with 2 gallons of fuel ...That would at 712 pounds make you over 200 pounds ?

I think i'll just order a 45-46 rear and leave it at that , I could stand to shorten it up a little. Also need a racing seat, I want to get lower in the bike and have something to hold me in place and with what i have, I slide back too much on the launch. Guess i gotta spend a little more $$ for that 8 sec pass but I'll get it.

Is there a pretty accurate hp calculator for bikes somewhere?

Yup prostar >> http://www.amaprostar.com/dynos.asp ..... On the seat i rode one with a fiber glass seat and it put me so low i could not tuck in because the gas tank was in the way ....I didn't like it and allmost slid off the bike .. Don't you have a cut down Tobin seat now ?

It needs to be reshaped more like Brent Davis seat to hold me in place better. Its too flat across and the stop is 2-3 inches to far back so I slide till I hit it. Throws me off. I like to be right up on the tank.

Pat if you go with the heavy duty springs I would reccomend only running two of them I use 3 but I am 285 pounds and I wanted it a little stiffer for nitrous

With the busa, I had 4 of the heavy duty and 2 springs that totally would blow the stiff springs into the ground. I think they were used on high hp turbo bikes but it did the job and I need to do whatever it takes to get this thing to 60. But I think 3 might be a good idea to start with and see if that does the trick. Thanks

17-43 , going to change to 17 - 45-46 to be able to use more of 5th.

With the Sunstar front sprocket on, the bike acted like it was jumping teeth. Thats exactly what it felt like. I even tightened the chain more than what it should of been just to see if it would cure the problem, nope. I didn't know at first if it was the tranny or what, scared the crap out of me. So smokin suggested i put the stock back on and the problem went away. So, I'll stick to changing the back since i know what i want now.

I love my catalyst seat....at the end of last year it was good for a tenth and it lose's about 8 pounds off the bike. If you get one be careful it will scratch the paint and you better put washers under the screws because they will pull thru....ask me how i know...I ran my bike off pump gas wed and it hated it! It had the lowest MPH i ever seen with 142-143. I'm going back to my u4 wednesday night. Normally i see about 150-154...i couldnt get it out of the 40's...i was so pissed

Well this wednesday was hot! I got a little MPH back running..148-149. I'm going to pull the bike apart and go thru it. I'm going to replace the fibers and pulling the front and back wheel and put some thinner grease in there. I broke out the digital scales lastnight and started pulling parts off the bike and weighing them. I think im going to ditch the back brake and rotor. The rotor weighed a little over 2lbs. I have a brand new shinko 190 u soft sitting around and it's almost 15lbs!...i grabbed the shit Metzler and it was barely 12...too bad it doesnt hook. I lost something somewhere at sometime and im going to find it......
