Let know what you think
This is the clutch I only got 40 passes on before they started slipping in 3rd gear on me.
I checked the stack height and its within spec. The steels are a blue but not burnt up, and the fibers still look new. Hopefully the pics aren't too bad.

What do you all think would cause my clutch to slip? Could it be be the stock springs (7900miles)
Need some help with setting up clutch. Should I beef up the stack height a tad?
I want to be able to get 150+ passes on the stock clutch like everyone else.

Man them look much better than mine !!!!! Yes the stock springs can get weak and a new set would not be a bad idea .... I have 500 passes i'm still on the stock springs ...
OK on to what i think happened >> I had about 100 passes on my zx14 at stock wheel base and the clutch started slipping ....Well i was wrong !!!! the clutches were fine ......I was spinning the tire on the top end of the track 3 , 4 , 5 th gear ....The track prep was the problem not the clutches ....I went the very next week for test and tune with the same clutches and the tire hooked and the clutches were fine ..
Like i said them clutches look great!!! I'd run them !!!!! If you don't want them send them to me ~~~ Smokin ..

Alright Smokin' I didn't think the clutches were bad. I will pick up some springs tomorrow and I am soaking the clutches again.
I usually run 30-35psi in the rear and never having a problem with spinning unless I get out of the groove.

Nelson- How are you beefing up spring pressure?
I too have had wheel spin problems down track.
Even @ 18psi. Set your stack height on the taller side and shim the springs
I've used as much as 0.180 and as little as 0.090 which is where I am now.

I'm totally impressed that you have been able to maintain traction at 30-35psi. I run 24-12psi depending on the track conditions and I've not been able to run above 18psi all summer. If you want to check out your springs measure their height with a set of calipers. The manual gives you the service limit for them.

Rich, I was just going to stick a thicker steel in to increase (beef up) the stack height,
I have never shimmed the springs before and really never attributed the clutch slipping down track to the springs. I am going to purchase some new springs and set the stack height on the taller side. Hopefully that'll do it.
Burnout,
I am at stock wheelbase and weigh 200 suited which is why my tire pressure is where it is.
I rarely spin unless the tracks bald which it never is. We run on the same day as the drag cars so the track prep is great.
