Poll Question:
Vote which oil you use!!!!

Well all this talk about oil has made me curious, mainly cause my clucthes are slipping and I use amsoil 10w40 synthetic. And I also had a bike mechanic tell me that its because I use synthetic oil, but I thought that was for slipper clutches only! Well I figured why not make a poll!!!! Sorry if I left out some but there are only 10 spots! But maybe this will clear up on which oil is popular and trustworthy!

when I went to amsoil, my shifts got smoother, and my second clutch has almost twice the runs on it as the first before it went out. still going strong.

amsoil m/c specific and all other m/c specific synthetics have anti foam additives, and little or no molly, which is the cause of slipping clutches.

If you use m/c specific oils yur cams and top end will last longer due to no foaming at high rpm, and the clutches will be ok since it does not have the molly content of the auto oils.

Well it looks like alot of mobil 1 users, I wanted to use mobil 1 cause thats what I have run in all my race cars and street machines with absolutley no problems. But everyone was telling me that its not good to use car oil in a bike so I spent 10.00 a quart for amsoil which I guess is good oil. I guess it comes down to what smokin said in the other thread which is it comes down to the rider on weather clutches fail not the oil!! So that said what weight do all you mobil 1 guys use? Thanks.

I use the high performance 15w50 oil. Had 40k miles on my ZX-12R without any problems with the clutch or motor.

D, you've ran a total of 500,000 miles on your last 5 bikes? Mind telling me which brand/model they are? Of course I suspect HONDA...

We should just have a permanent oil thread as a "sticky" at the top and be done with it. We could always post amazing oil testimonials when we get bored. :milk
