I am not a liberal in any way, shape or form. In fact, I despise most of that way of thinking. Shooting an animal from 100 yards away or more is not a political issue. It is an issue of cowardice. It's easy to label someone a liberal or conservative, but shooting a bear has nothing to do with either ideology. Like I said before, go fight the bear with a knife and if you win, it was a fair fight. As far as the opposable thumbs comment, superior intelligence does not allow us the luxury of ignorance. It is just plain ignorant to believe that we somehow have more of a right to this planet than anything or anyone else does. Go shoot your wad in some toothless old bag and leave the bear alone. Ted Nugent- great guitarist...over- opinionated idiot in pretty much every other way.
Love the article- It puports to be from a conservation group named "The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters." Gee...do ya think they have the bear's interests in mind or the hunter's? Hmmm, based on the name of the organization, I wonder . . .

It is not ignorant if you consider yourself a Christian! THe bible plainly says in Genesis (that is the one in the front of the book) that "God gave Adam DOMINION OVER all the beast of the field and the birds of the air"... Look I am a big hunter mostly deer but I have hunted bear before with a Bow a Muzzleloader and a Rifle and as far as you saying the cowardice comment hunting is more about skill then a lot of NON HUNTERS realize for instance when I was 19 years old I was hunting with my fathers Ruger 25-06 on his deer stand (a power line with clear shots of almost a mile in either direction) and FAR off to my right walks out a deer So I ligned up the shot calmed myself and fired the deer dropped in its tracks, So as any good hunter does I sat there patiently for a few minutes to make sure it was dead then got down hopped on the four wheeler and when and checked out the deer it was a HUGE 14 point (biggest deer I ever killed to this day) I made a PERFECT SHOT right through the shoulder blade into the heart the deer died instantly well I went and got my father and brother in law to help me with the deer we came back and measured the shot it was 930 yards!!!! for those of you that dont hunt that is a VERY DIFFICULT SHOT for those of you that do hunt you already know but my point is this If you have never hunted then making the comment that hunting with a rifle is a cowards way and it is to easy that is BS it takes a lot of skill to Accurately shoot a rifle It is a skill I have practiced since I was a child and have still not mastered (almost but not yet)
And I also want to thank steve for his great comments you cant talk shit about hunting being for cowards when you eat a cheeseburger at McDonalds At least I have the decency to look the animal in the eyes before I kill it...

Christian, Jew, Satan worshipper...who gives a damn? The original post was some sort of boastful announcemenmt that he is going to go out and hunt a noble creature for his own amusement and/or to show he is some kind of badass. There is nothing badass about shooting an innocent animal from 100 yards. This is a ZX-14 forum and we have some clown talking about shooting bears. Next time, keep the hunting BS to yourself and talk about the bike instead. As far as Ted goes, if he elected to say that to my face, he would find himself mounted on my wall!

The Nuge could take a stock ZX14 and a few boy scouts, have the bike dressed out and equipped to shoot a bear with a bow at 150 yards (in the dark!), pick it up, prepare the meat, make coats from the fur, deliver it, and have a complete meal presented on a struggling families dinner table by 7 PM! (quicker than the rest of us can take a modified ZX14 to burger king for some freshly killed cows and chicken nuggets!)

I was a hunter.... I like animals to much to do it anymore.
I made a bet one day.... with this boastfull fool about his shooting ability. At the time I was breeding Rottiwielers and had 7 dogs that I was doing Shutzund (police-type) at home. This fool I was talking to said that he could shoot the ass out of a nat or any big bad dog that came his way.
So... I told him I would give him 5 yards and six bullets against 6 of my dogs. He said ...
NO.

Look, I know Special Edition. He is a decent guy. The guy is going hunting with his son. Some families have hunting traditions that last for generations, where the parent and kid do some bonding out in the woods. Knowledge of nature and preservation is passed from the old to the young, and most of the the time, nobody shoots anything. If we did, we cleaned it and ate it. Some of my fondest memories of my late father are old hunting stories, like me getting the truck stuck numerous times...and once I hit him in the gut with a clay pidgeon I mislaunched. I don't kill anything for sport , just meat, and the kills are few and far between. Really I just like getting out in the woods sometimes away from it all.
I respect peoples right to hunt or not as long as regulations are followed. Most folks anymore have never been hunting or don't own a gun and do not understand. Thats all right too. Special Ed was just dropping a line so I wouldn't bust his chops for missing out on Bike Night so much. Have a good time Tom.

Some bears have a bonding tradition that has been passed on for generations as well. It's called LIVING! Anyway, I agree to disagree with all you hunters. It doesn't make sense to argue the issue here anyway so I'm done on this one. Let's beat a new horse, like the ridiculously ugly '08 Busa rear end (see pic posted earlier by "stevewfl")
P.S. Uncle Ted is a blowhard douchebag who happens to be an awesome guitarist.

Zx14's are the topic. The wildlife land is dissappearing to build new highways for ZX14 bikes and to support the infrastructure of a growing people population. Wildlife management includes that fact some animals are going to either have to be hunted, or they'll starve themselves out.
I quit hunting years ago too, but I sure enjoy riding my bike on all these roads that have been built through in the forests of the east coast states! I enjoy eating beef, chicken, and fish in all the restaurants built all over the bear's land, whether killed by hunters and fishermen, or modern-day assembly line fashion!
OK, I'm going for a ZX14 ride and whistle some Nuge tunes :P
